Can't search EVO IX, now what?

I just saw a thread closed about EVO IX. Someone told the newbie to search and a mod closed the thread. Guess what, you can't use 2 characters (IX) for a search. So more threads are going to pop up as more information develops for the EVO IX. Is there a solution to this?

Unfortunately no, we can't search anything below 3 characters in length. If you must search something related to the Evo IX, just type in a related discussion involving the Evo IX (like that thread I just closed, search for "Evo IX, Motor Trend Scans" Or something similar to that) and you should find what your looking for.

Here's a scheme you can use to work around the 3-char. search string limit, if you think about it ahead of time.

When you are posting in a thread that discusses something like the Evo IX, combine the smaller words to form a word like Evo_IX or EvoIX or Evo9 or similar.

If more people adopt this convention, then searching for short but significant words could get easier.

Anyway, just an idea.

EZ76, when you do a search such as the Evo_IX it does come up with the correct page, but is that the same way the server searches or something? I never knew you could do that.

Does this work in other search engines as well?
