Why a simple time attack challenge?
"I want to keep this simple. Just a time attack, more fun. Yes, driver/suspension/brakes/engine will all be very important. I think the quartmile time and dyno shootout has been beat to death. Just as though some choose you for your great 1/4 mile achievements, what about who's suspension and braking to choose? I don't think we need another 3 day, prepare your car for 5 weeks test.
After all, we already have 2 Mitsubishi only drag events."
This should be a FUN, LOW STRESS event. One nice sunny day and some fast Evo's.

Just a thought:
I am as big of a roadrace fan as any but adding adding a dyno, braking and quarter fun would add to the event a lot and make it more meaningful. This hasn't been done in a invite all qualified cars way yet. An internet based event might cover it though...
Either way, count me in

I think you should open it up to everyone. Might be a time problem. I would come from AZ to try it. But i think you need to have no PROFESSIONAL drivers. car owners must drive. This levels the field more than limiting the mods IMO. RRR

RRaulston: I understand that you would be interested in competing, and so would I, but time and logistics make this a tuner only challenge. If you car is capable of being competitive(driver must be competitive also), it can enter (You'll probably need 400+WHP, R-Compound tires and a full suspension setup). But Tuners should get first crack at entry.

Should we have a dyno challenge? (Just quarter mile times)
I vote no.
Let's keep this to real world results at a drag strip and road course.
What do you think?

Having all these cars dyno'd on the same dyno at the same time would be really interesting but track/strip and maybe 0-60, 0-100 and 100-0 would be more meaningful. Less to argue over later
