I'm the Latest Victim

In reference to this thread:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=117604

My car got broken into tonight. After the string of break-ins we've been having, I'm surprised it hasn't happened already. But I don't keep ANYTHING in my car anymore. They busted out the small window on the back door, climbed into the front, rummaged through my glove compartment, and moved on. Didn't take anything. Funny thing is that I'm here working late to get a project out, and it's going to end up costing me money. Not a shot in hell I'm staying late again until they do something about security.

I'll turn the window receipt in to my company and we'll see what happens. Hopefully they reimburse me.

Sorry to hear that. Just had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago. They got into my car while it was in my garage. I've since installed a security system and feel somewhat more protected.

Well, the company ended up reimbursing me, but only because I was working overtime . If it had been regular business hours it would've been my problem. The next day they came back and we got their license number. They were trying to break into the car of the guy who delivers candy to the vending machines--who happens to be an off-duty police officer . He drives a beautiful white M5 and they set his alarm off when they touched his window. They busted the guys later that night.

I only drive to work a couple days a week now; I carpool the rest of the time. The break-ins have stopped--at least we haven't had one in about a month. There was more than one group hitting us, but no one's been back. Hope I can start driving to work again.

Thanks guys.

I'm glad it all worked out. Even the little windows are expensive!

Heck yes there expensive. Sometimes the smaller the glass the MORE expensive.

I should know since I install glass all day.

My glass cost somewhere around $185 for the one piece. I had a couple of other quotes for quite a bit higher.
