When I filled up yesterday at the Chevron in Lp the stickers were present on the pumps. I asked the guy inside if they had ethanol in the gas now, and he said "not yet but within the next week it will".

Are you referring to MTBE (Methyl tert-butyl ether) which has be used in this manner?

That sounds familar. I know we've been on a 'reformulated' fuel for some time that had some negatives in performance and fuel economy.

I personally dont have a problem with anything that takes our primary consumable out of the hands of oil sheiks. my question is was this a Texas government thing? or was this a market test mandated by the feds? im assuming this isnt going to just be a dallas and houston thing for too long if its a fed thing, but i wonder how long it will be before more cities are required to make the switch. Anybody heard anything on a second phase to this?
