Oil Filter Question...

Anyone recommend where to get a good oil filter without having to drive all the way up to the dealership? The dealership is near 35-45 min away from me and I'd def like to save the trip if I can. I see all these posts about staying away from fram and what not.

Anyone recommend a good one in Austin?

Not sure where to get a Mitsubishi one other than at the dealership, but Mobile One filters are a pretty good alternative. M1-110 is the part number (not 108 like the catalog says--those are for non-turbo lancers). A little pricey, but basically the same as what you'd spend at the dealership for an OE one. Available at any auto parts store, O'Reilly, Auto Zone, etc.

Go to ebay motors and get a great deal on six royal purple oils and k&n oil filter for about $60.00 dollars, shipping is quick to.

Absolutely, there are several excellent alternatives to the OEM filters. There quite a few threads on this here.

I use the Mobil 1 M1-110 as well as it is close to the size of the factory filter.

108 is a bit small. Go with the 110

Please be careful with the k&n oil filters guys. I've personally seen them come apart and ingested by engines.
