Come on don't give up so easily. You still have plenty of time, I'm pretty sure there will be more participation as the day of the event gets closer. Be patient my son.

I remember setting up the 1st annual ATX EVO/AWD Meet...........everyone keep telling me that it was the wrong date, the weather would be lousy, wrong location and no would show up.......blah, blah, blah.

It was pretty obvious they were wrong. The meet turned out great considering it was our first time doing something that big. Hopefully, next year ATX EVO/AWD Meet will be bigger and I guarantee we will have more sponsors for the free give away prizes.

I appreciate where you are coming from, but this is slightly different. We are involving an outside entity (SCCA, PCA and the Track itself). There are certain minimums required to make this happen for a reasonable rate for those who participate. We are not talking about meeting in a parking lot, burning up public roads and going to a track that will be open weather we show or not. I was also counting on a certain number of people to promote interest from various vendors and sponsors. I have not given up hope, but it requires a great deal of time and effort (as you know) to put something like this together.

So what are the requirements and numbers or cars for the track event to make it happen? I could get word out so the Z club, Subby's club, Supra's owners to get invovled and participate in the track event..........more info would be good.

If you can't make the track event happen.....................theres nothing wrong with," meeting in a parking lot and burning up public roads", Corpus Christi Style

Hrm.. I hope this happens.. How firm is the date? I think there may be a conflict with my schedule that weekend.. push it back a week or two? Also, I agree with milo in that people will show.. It would be nice to know what the target is for number of people needed.. also, someone should post this up on Nabisco and that other subbie forum..

I might be able to make it if I'm in the country. Since Bob is putting this together, I assume we all get the ARP discount.

I'm considering changing things up significantly. My car may not be ready by this time and there does not seem to be as much interest in the track event as originally thought. Consider this a feeler for the following:

Change date to June 9th or 16th
Eliminate track time
Increase Beach activities
Run to Joe Cotton's BBQ
Participate in local Street Scene Meet at A&W in evening
Hit local club activities in the evening

This cuts down on everyones expenses (Hotel, track time, etc). We still get to do the beach thing. We get a chance to show off to some of the locals and enjoy some night life Corpus style.

Tell me what you think!

hrm.. was really looking foward to running the track... i'd be willing to pay a little more to do that even if we don't generate enough interest (would still like to know what your target number of people is, we still have that sign in sheet from our meet and we can send emails out to everyone if you'd like) I'd still be down to do just a regular street meet tho.. i vote for the 9th as the 16th is fathers day and it might be hard to drum up enough interest that weekend...

Well, as far as numbers go...let me share this info with you, at the time attack they are running this weekend, there are 70 cars running. I just don't have it in me to show up with 4 or 5 people.
I'm absolutely comitted to having an event here in Corpus. I will continue to try and raise interest, but would really appreciate the help from the guys in S.A. and ATX.
