I'll be there if it goes down, don't know about the krew tho. They never answer phone calls so we'll see. Talked to xfer this past weekend and he said he might be able to show up for the track event but thats the only person I've heard from...

Me? LoL... about the only meets are saturdays around 7pm at the mcdonalds on I-35 and 620 in Round Rock. Sometimes people (evo's/STI's) show, sometimes they don't but there are always all kinds of cars there. There were also wed. nights and Taco Cabana on Burnet/183 but I haven't been out there in forever and last I heard everyone got kicked out of that spot. The next big thing is this Corpus meet. You should really try and go to that, even if you don;t want to run the track.

My internet access has been limited at home. Bob, you know I'm going to support any Corpus event and I'll be there.

Paul, last month I ran somewhere in the 52.?? range Saturday and ran a best of 49.8 Sunday. Unfortunately, I got a DNF on my last run for getting a bit ahead of myself on that confusing backside cluster of gates.

Bob, I'll call you when I get back to Corpus this weekend and we can iron out some details.

Actually what you ran a couple of weeks ago was the White Course which is an autocross course. We will be running the full track. They have a couple of different layouts. One is approximately 1.8 miles while the other is a 2.8 mile track. I promise you won't run a 50 second lap on either of those courses.

1st Annual Corpus Christi AWD Track & Beach Event

Friday: Meet and Greet (@ resturant of choice)
* Cover weekend schedules
* Review Track/Tech Requirements
* Pool Tournament @ Paradise Pool
* Possible get together with local street scene
Saturday: Meet at Cabaniss Raceway at 9:30a.m.
* Tech Inspection/Rules review
* Run the 1st of 3 20-30 minute runs w/ instructor
* Run the 2nd 20-30 minute solo practice session
* Run final 20-30 minute timed session
* Meet for dinner
*
Car Show @ A&W starting at 6-7pm
* Port Aransas Party
Sunday: Breakfast
Beach Run to Bird Island Park
* Park has asphalt parking (no sand or salt on the
cars)
* Showers and concessions available

I've done some checking on the availability of rooms at the various hotels in the area and would recommend the following:

The Best Western Paradise Hotel
6301 South Padre Island Drive
361.992.3100
rates $94.95 to $99.95/night
This represents a $10.00/night discount

Hawthorne Suites
1442 South padre Drive
361.854.3400
rates $99.95/night
This represents a $20.00/night discount

Please tell them that you are in Corpus for this event!
These rates are only good if we have a minimum of 5 rooms rented!

Just to let ya'll know...I considered the location of the track, beach and other activities. I also considered the safety of your car as it was parked in the lot overnight. There are cheaper hotels, but you're on your own if that is what you choose.
