The plan was to use an actual track. Either the 1.8 or 2.8 mile course. I find it hard to believe that that will happen because of lack of interest. I still would like to do the Beach Run so ya'll could enjoy a little Corous Christi flava!

hrm.. i thought the original idea was to do the track event with the porche guys you know down there. Didn't know this was supposed to be an evo/sti only thing. I doubt we get a 70 car commitment.. Either way, count me in for the 9th

Nobody said we had to have 70 cars. Nobody said this was an EVO/STi only thing. My comment was that there were 70 cars this weekend and I wasn't going to do this with 4 or 5 cars. Why is that hard for you to understand? There is nobody in the state of Texas that wanted to have a weekend of track and beach anymore than I do, but do you honestly feel it's worth all of the planning for 4 or 5 cars. If we do the beach and a few other planned events it won't matter how many we get to come down. It no longer becomes a matter of numbers.
If you can guarantee we can get 10 to 15 cars, I'll work my butt off to make it work.
The other thought is that we time this for the same time they do a "Time Attack" like they did this weekend. The course is set-up like a long autoX with the fastest cars running it in 46 seconds. They do pactice on Saturday with the races starting on Sunday at 10:00am. You tell me.

OUCH......................poor Mookie.

Looks like everyone seems to be interested in doing the track event........... set up the event at the same day when the TIME ATTACK EVENT! That should be more promising.

It's not easy to setup an evo meet, so i could imagine whoosh is trying to do his best to satisfy everyone and make this track event happen. If everyone could help spread the words about this track event to your friends that are interested in tracking their car, that would definitely help.

It's nice to see bob and the other guy with the GG MR on saturday. Sorry i didn't get to ask your name, good run on saturday and i heard from steve with the miata that you run a 53.xx sec on sunday. Anyway, nice meeting you guys and hope to see you guys on the next auto-x, if i get the time to go.

Please see Post #1 for changes, prices ,etc. Let's make this happen. I've talked the president of the PCA to let us do this, so I'm hoping this will satisfy most everyone!

Title of thread (South Texas AWD Track & Beach Event) implies EVO/STi therefore I assumed as such. Nobody said anything about 70 cars except you when you mentioned the last group of 70 cars. Honestly, if you would have just answered the question of how many commitments you were looking at getting the first 500 times it was asked, this would be a moot point already. So now that we all know 10 to 15 cars is the goal, I'm sure we can make that happen. Like I said, either way, I'm down.

PE and milo: what days are you guys planning on going?

True dat.......confusion could have been avoided. In my prior post, I've inquired on how many cars are need to make this track event happen as well.

I'll probably just drive down on Friday evening.

MOOkiE and Milo...I'm sorry I didn't answer your question when you asked. I did not have the answer at that time. I was being asked how many I would be bringing to the track by the people who run the track. What I repeatedly told you guys was that I would not do it for 4 or 5 cars. I kept hoping that we would get more interest. The comment about 70 cars was merely to show you the response someone else had for a track day. I never insinuated that we needed anywhere near that amount. I was looking for help "drumming up the crowd" from you folks in ATX and S.A. I haven't seen that yet from you folks. I would appreciate the help. I'm willing to do all of the leg work here if you can help with the attendence. Let's quit *****ing at each other and start making this happen.
