Calling anyone from Texas... quick question

Hey,

I am wondering what the octane levels are in Texas? I am going to be attending Baylor University (Waco area, in Central Texas) next fall for 4 years and I am very curious about what I will need to have my Evo tuned for, depending if it is 93-92-91... etc.

Thank you for anyone who can chime in and help

I was in Midland/Odessa and could only find 91. As to where back home is 93.

When you move into West Texas (Panhandle and surrounding areas), 91 is generally the best you can get. Be aware that some smaller towns between cities might only have 89 octane as their premium.

The last time I took a turbocharged car through Lubbock, I only found two places with 93. Everyplace else was 91.

The remainder of the state 93 is generally available. Up here, we have 100 octane.

Lubbock has ONE gas station with 93 at this time. And sometimes they run out.
ALL other places 90 is the premium.
Fina used to have 92, but ever since that gas refinery blew up in San Angelo, its been 90 as the premium.

I live an hour south of Waco. From what I have noticed most if not all gas stations in the Central Texas area have 93.

BenBob, the truck stop on 4th and the Interstate had it, and I thought I saw 93 at the gas station at Indiana and South Loop. Where do you get yours?
