NTEC Holiday Party

EDIT: I ALREADY MADE RESERVATIONS!!
WHERE: OJEDA'S PLANO
2001 Coit Rd
Plano, TX 75075
(972) 599-1300

DATE: DEC 13, 2008
TIME: STARTS AT 7-7:30 PM

At last month's NTEC meet, I mentioned something about having a party for the holidays. I wanted to get an idea as to what date everyone would like to do this. We can skip the RKC/NTEC in the North meet on Dec 1 and have the party soon after.

Being the holiday season, I know many people will be out of town. I'd say we should go for either of the first two Saturdays: Dec 6 or 13. I will be busy the weekend of Dec 20. Not to mention it is the weekend before Christmas.

Who's invited: All NTEC members, their wives. fiancees, girlfriends, and kids.

Location: possibly Ojeda's in Plano. The guy at Ojeda's was very nice to us when we went there for a meet one night. He said he'd let us watch whatever we want on the TVs and also give us a section of the restaurant that is just for us. As soon as everyone picks the date, I will call him and get more details. If they have a DVD player I think we can put in a A Christmas Story, which is a classic.

For the gift exchange, I think a white elephant gift exchange (aka chinese gift exchange) will be fun. For those unfamiliar with this type of gift exchange, everyone brings a gift. What you do is have all gifts set on a table. I think the easiest way to do this would be to put numbers in a box. We can all draw numbers out to decide who goes when and then pick whatever gift we want off the table or from the person ahead of us. The later you go, you can pick a gift from whoever you choose. This is what makes it fun. Just remember that it's all in fun and no one should get upset if their gift gets taken by someone else in the end.

To clarify, there will be no gag gifts allowed. We should try to keep it at least car related. Evo specific gifts would be nice, but it's not mandatory. Don't spend less than $20 or more than $40.

If anyone has any suggestions, post up. Let's get this started so we're not doing it all at the last minute.

I'll start the list. Remember to copy and paste then add your name to the list.

The 6th is the first day of the drivers edge driving event... and the ER awards ceremony/holiday party, so I can't make that date. The 13th is doable for me.

That's right.... TDE is the 6th. So it is looking more like the 13th for this event.

I don't think that I'll be able to make it, that is my gfs B-day weekend and not sure that I can talk her into doing an NTEC party. I'll keep you posted.

So does anyone think we should put this off until after Christmas or do it at the end of November?

I think that might be a little too late haha. By then everyone will be tired of red, green, and candy canes. It should be either before or at least close to the actual holiday

I would like to do it while everyone still has the holiday spirit.
