Austin tuning pull locations

I'm thinking about having Mellon tune my car. The tuning process involves doing pulls from 2500RPM to redline in 3rd while logging. I guess that translates into going from 30mph to 80mph. Does anybody have a good recommendation for where to do these pulls in Austin? I'd like to do it during the day when it's hotter to keep the tune safer. Are there any empty industrial parks where I could do this on the weekend? I live downtown, so I'd prefer someplace close to downtown.

Thanks

I can't think of any kind of industrial park that big, even though it's only 80mph. You would probably be best off going down Mopac or 35, right in the middle of the day when traffic is light. Pull a log from an on ramp in 3rd gear up to 80mph.

It seems like most on-ramps/off-ramps are at a grade. This seems like something you wouldn't want to base your tuning off of. I guess some of the frontage road to freeway on-ramps are pretty flat and long though.

KevinD, where do you do your pulls in Dallas? Do you just do them on the freeway? Or are there big enough, empty enough industrial parks there?

If you're hard up for locations try these two:

Ferguson Lane

Johnny Morris Road (NOT around March 13-28)

Both are decent because they are right on the edge of city limits.

i've got a few roads in the area that are wide (2-3 lanes each direction), have very little traffic, and are not near any houses/apartments. most of them don't even have parkinglots or any access roads onto the roads i tune on. makes it safer to tune.
