alrighty... refreshed the bottom end w/ new ARP rod bolts and new rod bearings (apparently cylinder 4 was toast). Thank God we found it before something bad happened. My shep tranny was rebuilt by Inline and new HKS twin disc installed. Couple more stuff and im ready to be re-tuned on Friday. If all goes well and no "kaboom" i'll see you guys next week at HRP!

you can buy Clevites locally. You use standard size bearings if nothing spun and no maching required. ARP rod bolts are a good investment... its the weakest link on the stock motor. They stretch from high rpm and hp abuse... causing you to spin a bearing OR worse throw a rod. The forged internals from factory are strong enough... its our fasteners that SUCK. The headstuds i could careless about until you remove the head for something. Its the rod bolts that need attention. Anyways... temporary solution until i do a full motor build.

sorry if i missed some of the conversation, but if you have a spun bearing on cylinder 4, i would be pulling the motor and cleaning everything. i've seen it a number of time where people don't clean the metal flakes from the toasted bearing out from every crack and crevise and it just spins the bearing(s) again. replace your oil cooler as well. of course you might be already working on the motor outside of the car, but if i had the motor completely apart i would be replacing rods/pistons and main bearings as well.
