TX, OK, LA Evo Owners are Panzies

Alright, now that you're here, why aren't you at the local road circuit?

On the west coast so many Evo groups are getting together to enjoy their Evos in the only place they can, the local road circuit. They realize how stupid and dangerous it is to try to use more than 25% of an Evos potential on public roads.

For those scared/worried/panzied about going to a road circuit. Get Real! You are in considerably more danger driving on the freeway then at a circuit like Motorsport Ranch.

With the exception of a handful of enthusiasts, Too Many Evo owners in the area are always tucking and running. Just stop. Stop making excuses and being such chickens. Come out to the next HPDE event. There are instructors there to help you! To make *YOU* a better, more capable, smarter driver. These skills will go with you for the rest of your life, even from Evo VIII to IX, guaranteed! What other mod can you buy that is guranteed to work on a car that isn't even out yet?

Plus there are no posted results on the web for unwanted eyes to see.

So all you who think you have a clue about driving, come out, prove it, or learn how to drive, either it's a win win situation.

There is a great weekend coming up July 10-11, 2004.

Hey, you're the one calling us panzies and asking why we don't road race. Would you mind paying my divorce fees too? Or is that too much to ask?

Ya I am calling all the excuse giving folks panzies.. I think your marriage problems are outside the scope of this discussion.

People stop making excuses. If you are an enthusiast, embrace it. Get out and Drive!

Why would you spend 30 large on a high performane sedan that you can't afford to use the high performance portion of the sedan? Kind of like buying a car, but can't afford the gas and letting the negelcted thing sit and go to waste..

I hear ya...I myself would love to come out and learn the limits of the EVO. What is the cost and don't you need to purchase additional tires and brake pads for the event? I believe this is a big reason many of use do not participate in these events. It is not that we are affraid or don't have the ***** to drive our cars the way they are meant to be driven.

That is the biggest friggin problem, Everyone makes up excuses and speculation without just doing it!

If you drive your car you are ready.

Upgrading brakes or tires is NOT necessary for beginners, as a matter of fact it's a HUGE waste. 99% of Beginners can't even use the stock cars full potential. Learning to drive properly and well, is learning how to use the car without being abusive or tearing up tires and brakes.

Anyone can go out and rip up a set of tires or brakes, but HPDE events are there to show you how to drive and *use* (not abuse) a car.

http://www.nasatx.com - pricing, dates, locations, all there.

For $250 or so + Gas, you get 2 days of more intense learning how to drive than you can imagine - SAY THAT slowly and let it sink in, MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE.
This month June 5-6, we got 6 - 45minute sessions. That's 4.5 hours of on track driving!

Then there are the instructor/class room sessions to discuss and let what you do settle in and get input on what to think about do next time out.

I've offerred in the past to do dual driver events with people to cut the entry fees in half ( $125 ), I've paid for all the gas for the weekend, and we split the sessions up 3 and 3 each. I've suggested buying a set of track pads for the weekend so we can work with the car 100%, without concern about using all the pads up, if we're progressing well.

I don't think I can offer that this July, but if I can and any one is interested, whatever it takes to put one more safe driver out on public roads. The one thing I require doing this though is that we install harnesses in the car for the event. My belief and modus operandi is you can't drive a car without being firmly in place so you can feel the car and control the car not be thrown around by the car.

I use a clip in harness that can have the eyebolts installed in the Evo only requiring 4 small 1 inch cuts made in the carpet behind the drivers seat. Once removed the cuts are not seen under the rear mats.

I am going to see if my friend wants to split the bill. He has an 04 STI...so he has also been wanting to take some classes. Will let you know if we can make it out there on July 10th. If anything I plan on stopping by this Sat. to check out the track.

Gyahhh Leeeee.. So many excuses. money in mods you can't even safelu use on the streets. Ever wonder what those mods must be like to use full throttle for 45 minutes? Or is the car now *way* beyond your skill level to handle..
