give the kid a break...im not totally on his side about learning to race on this car...but hey he had to do it somewhere...i did it and everyone eventually did it...so lay off of him...he was just giving his sotry...i dont really see how
screwed you over?...why not instead of bashing the guys give him some advice on how to drive the car and maybe he'll learn...as for proper break in period...everyone has ther different opinions on how to do that...most pro race drivers will tell you that a motor that is driven hard to break in will drive harder in the long run...whatever everyone has their own opinion...

To me it sounds like you have been treated very well by mitsubishi. You learned to drive a stick with this car? wasted the clutch with less than 1k miles and they replaced it? Props to them.
You learned to race in this car? blew the transfer case? they replaced it under warranty? Props to them, they really shouldn't have.
You are a moron and don't check the oil in your car? You have odd howling sounds? What do you expect them to do? How about you sell it and get a Corolla, beat that to ****, then when you learn how to take care of cars buy an Evo.

yea bro... you're lucky they fixed it the first time. you should go play the lottery if they fix it again. either way, when it does get fixed, drive it smoother and really control and feel the shifting. don't just jam it in and slam the gas. you really gotta become one and smooth with this vehicle to get the full effect. control with ease and strength. good luck bro.
So mommy and daddy bought your car and they should get it fixed for him and stop blaming the dealer......... At the age of 16 he should not be driving a car like that because he is too immature and wants to show OFF and don't know what responsibilty is ......
The EVO is my first standard car and at 17K, still have stock clutch and no problem. The stock clutch is running as well as it was when I first got it. I dont beat the hell of my car every chance I got, but I do drive it hard when Im in the mood. You just have to play smart and think alittle bit. Think ahead might take some time and brain power, but it saves alot of $$$ and trouble. The EVO was made tough in my opinion. I dunno how could a clutch go out within 1K and now the tranfer case. It must be that you either neglect or not care much about your ride. I myself have to pay for mine so I care alot. Well, good luck and I hope you get your problems resolve. Sometime one have to learn it the hard way. Everybody does.
You should be kissing mitsus *** for warranteing your clutch , T case , and telling you your out of oil!! It's not their fault your car is breaking down due to owner neglect. Mitsubishi did their part and tried to help you out. Now its your turn to do the same
What an idiot!!! no one on this forum should be defending this kid!!!! He blew his clutch cus da wittle bwat learned to drive stick and RACE!!!??? WHat street race huh? You could've killed yourself or someonelse. You are not cool and you will get no props from me. I't little kids like you who's gonna make it hard for me and the rest of the guys to fight our warranty issues. Do the rest of you guys on this fourm relize that this is the same reason why Mustang insurance rates went sky high? I see too many young kids driving Evos irresponsibly and getting wrecked. By the way an Evo is not a very safe car to get into a high speed crash in. YOur lucky Mitsu helped you this much you dumbass!!!! I Agree with Funky go get a corolla or civic and beat that to sh_t!!!!! Sorry guys stupid stuff like this gets on my nerves. It makes it harder for the rest of us. Damn!!! it reminds of stupid kids going out there and buying liter bikes like Gixxer 1000s, R-1s etc and getting killed custhey refuse to learn on an old 600 or 250. There the Dragon has let off his steam.
whoa whoa whoa
now i agree that at 16 i shouldnt be driving this kind of car, but i have been fortunate enough to get a really good paying job. I do pay for this car myself. I pay my own insurance. For any of you who think im spoiled, i have to pay $1600 every 6 months to drive this car b/c of how my parents drive and what they drive. yeah i could go buy a corrolla and go **** that up but thats not why i bought this car. i bought it to look good, maybe start showing, and if i feel like it i might go autox. yes i know there are better cars out there to autox but i just liked the evo b/c of all the accolades it supposedly has.
yes mitsu did screw me over b/c i started racing after almost 1500 miles and not right when i got the car. plus for the first 500-700 miles my dad was mostly driving this car and hes been driving manula trannys all of his life. he knows what he is doing and knows that a clutch should not have gone out at 900 miles even with me driving it. Im not stupid with my car. For anyone that knows me they know that yes i may drive fast here or there but its not a race everywhere i go. Ill admit ive street raced twice. Once in the evo and once in my old rsx. I would go to the track but with all of the problems ive been having i figure its not worth it to race on the track or the street and then have something break, b/c then i will have to pay for it.
Like i said in the first post this is just my reason why i will never buy another mitsubishi and i hope to get rid of this one. for all i know i could have gotten a lemon.
all right now if any of you have any helpful advice on what to do and not stop ****ing flaming me then it would be much appreciated.

i was always told, that the more you know your car and the more you know what it's capable of then the better youll be when you do go to race. everything in racing whe its drag, rally, autox, or drifting has to be smooth and for stuff to be smooth you have to know the car. its sorta lame how i sadi it but thats how it really is.
Yes, that's true. But you have to start from the basics. You said you learned to drive a stick. Know all that you can about shifting first like double clutching/heel-toe and so on. Once you get that down pact, you move up. I race(use to, funds are running low) with N.A.S.A. at Infineon. I started with the basics and moved up. The first time I drove the Evo, it scared the **** out of me, but since I already had some experience racing, I knew what to do and not to do. It's a gradual step, I know it might be slow but experience can save your life and parts also. Looking back at your post and rereading it, most likely it wasn't broken in properly. The Evo is a great car, but if you really plan on racing it, change to better parts (clutch, suspension, etc.)
