Mitsubishi(t) has screwed me over
Mitsubishi(t) has screwed me over
Well as some of my evo friends here in houston know, I got an evo at 16, learned to race and drive a stick on this car and tore it up. Recently it has been having some transmission problems not associated with how i drive. So heres the situation that I am in and I'm just looking for some input or maybe some advice on how to deal with these people.
900 miles - 1st clutch blown
3500 miles - Mysterious howling sound. I take it in to get checked out. Turns out to be a supposed transfer case. Warranty covers it. Get it back and hear same sound plus new one.
3525 miles - No oil in car. I got charged $60 for a damn oil change b/c race cars burn up oil faster than regular cars(bull****). Howling sound is still there.
4750 miles - 2nd clutch blown b/c of tranny problem. Mitsubishi refuses to replace it and wanted to charge me $1300 to do the repairs.
As of now that is my sitaution. My car is still at their dealership waiting to be worked on. We have put in many calls to the regional and district service manager to get this resolved, and still have yielded nothing. We are threatenting to go to court, and just may.
Once again this is just my story with the Mitsubishi(t) Motor company. I hope other peoples stories are better than mine. Just give me some input or just your 2 cents.

ok how is it that its not your fault you didnt get an OIL CHANGE, thats your lack of knowing what a high performance car is all about. the rest of the stuff has already been comented on. so im going to leave it alone.
lol silly kid evo's are for responible people.

Did you even give it a good break in period? NO way in hell that clutch would go bad at 900miles if you gave it a good break in. Obviously you have no idea of how to break in a AWD car. Clutch is wear and tear and doesnt just go out due to transmission problems. THe only way you are going to get out of this hole is by taking it to another Mitus dealership and making up a hella good story. This reminds me of when one of the local kids here bought an SRT4 and acted sooo cool by racing it as soon as he got it. Gave it a bad break in and now he is paying for it. Anyways good luck kid

hey poptart, dont listen to jigglyp83, he's just supporting u because u guys are in the same club
jk man
no, it's not just his age. by saying he learned to "race" on his car, that means he put some stress on this car, and learning to drive will put some unusual stress on the car.
BUT
these problems are known to happen to some Evo's, aside from the low oil problem. that's just the owner's fault of not knowing performance cars so well..but from what i see when this problem happens, the owners of the car usually pays for the repairs out of their pocket. sorry man, it's probably going to be the same for you.

man, you guys are brutal. so you want to bash on his age, maybe you're just jealous cause at sixteen you didn't get a evo? you guys may bash on him for the issues but then again, think about how you started in the whole race bs..don't tell me you've never made stupid mistakes..everyone goes through their list of stupid ****, his just happens to be going through a 30k car.. the only real part i agree with is that he didn't break the car in properly..i waited till i had 3k on my motor to start pushing it a little..so don't act like you're all innocent...otherwise i'll call you straight bullsheit...
speaking of stupid mistakes, maybe those of us who made it past 16, 18, 20 did so becuase we weren't given a sword to imaple outselves on so young. It's not jealousy, It's called wisdom. There is a reason inexperienced folks lacking in common sense should start learning with less capable vehicles. Even more pathetic to not have enrolled in any high performance driving school prior to breaking his toy.
