Ok so my car is ready (it was in teh shop getting teh JDM bumper put on and being fixed)...


BUT the guy said they couldn't cut the crash beam to fit.. not sure why he just said it could't be done, even though I know other people have done it. Also, he couldn't put the license plate on (apparently he didn't know hot to modify it to fit either). Urg.


So where can I take it to get the crash beam fitted and license plate thingy to work?

I just left my crash beam out. Less weight

 

note... dont take your car back there if they can't even put a bumper on

 

Probably looking dope...you can go to a machine shop to have them plasma cut your crash bar. I did the same in another car.

It's not that. The shop is awesome at body work and paint and the like, but when I told them that the beam had to be modified to fit under the bumper I said it had to be cut to fit and apparently we both thought that meant cutting the sides down. Now that I looked at that how-to on the socalevo forums I see that it's not that, but getting rid of that piece that makes the beam stick out from the back of the car. So it turns out the car isnt ready because they hadn't gotten the light and are ordering it, so Im going to stop in tomorrow to show them the pictures of how to do it and Im hoping they will be willing to do it and hte license frame adjusting still. Otherwise I already have another shop in mind thanks to chrisbluevo

BTW, I'm surrounded by JDM down here. We get our parts directly from Japan.
Oh BTW, the Evo X has arrived here. I'm trying not to go to the dealership because I have no willpower whatsoever!

road and track or motortrend did some tests on it and the IX and the IX is still faster. the X is like 1-2 seconds faster on a track course but thats it. they havent tested the X MR though.
