Update!
MIAMI -- There's now a hurricane warning flying in the Florida Keys and part of the Florida peninsula.
The hurricane warning covers the Keys from Dry Tortugas to the Seven-Mile Bridge. There's also a warning for the Gulf peninsula from East Cape Sable northward to Bonita Beach. A hurricane watch is flying from Bonita Beach north to Tarpon Springs. There's a tropical storm warning from the Seven-Mile Bridge to Ocean Reef, including all of Florida Bay.
Charley is now centered about 100 miles east-southeast of Grand Cayman and moving northwest at about 16 miles an hour. A turn more to the north-northwest is expected in the coming 24 hours.
Top sustained winds are up to 85 miles an hour, with higher gusts. More strengthening is expected, along with storm surge flooding of two to four feet above normal in the low-slung Keys. Surge flooding of six to ten feet above normal is expected along the southwest Florida coast, along with four to eight inches of rain.
Charley's official forecast track over the next couple of days goes over Charlotte Harbor and then inland, up the Florida peninsula and then farther north up the U-S East Coast.
Charley centered at latitude 18.6 north, longitude 79.9 west.

Stupid storm! Hope it doesnt mess up things for NOPI. Well I just got back last night from Tampa and thats all they are talking about up there. What a nice drive, 600+ miles in two days (there and back) and in excess of 85mph, no cops, very enjoyable. Now I just have to wash the damn bugs off the front... AGAIN! Peace out
