As far as I know the age range in the group stretches from 20 to 40 (Correct me if I am wrong guys). I am the 40 year old. But everyone in the group is pretty mature. (Except for John... .... Just kidding)

If you want to join a group of kids that like to do a lot of chest-beating and dissing (I hope I spelled that right.) this is not the group for you.

But, If you want to join a friendly group of Evo enthusiasts that get together to talk about their cars and show off what they have done or help eachother with mods, then you are more than welcome to join up.

im not an expert but since PRVT threw me out there like that, maybe I can try to shed some light.

A reflash as I understand it is basically when they reprogram your stock ecu with new values... more fuel, better timing, remapping etc... basically whatever they wanted when they created the "template". Then you can accept more boost etc with some compensation already. I believe Works can even change your rev limiter.

You are still using the stock ecu so returning to the dealership is still within reason. Less headache, no rewiring, no programming skills needed.

here is my $0.02, i think reflashing is great for .... someone not looking for much tunability. However, in my humble opinion, i think its probably better than using piggyback... but for the money they charge you might as well get a damn standalone. Both avenues are limited, but perfect for some.

The coolest thing is you can always revert the flash to stock settings if you decide to trade in or sell your car.

although there is another reflashing... thats when a bunch of drunks flash the same people twice and dont realize it... aka reflashing... :-) want some wine with that? lol

Just go with WORKS. They are the best at this shizzle.
They have the most experience...remember, this is your car's brain. No brain, car dont go anywhere, so trust only with experts.

just plan to have your car parked for about 4 days? figure with shipping etc.

I wish I had one of those machines... after the initial research, its all profit after. $500 i think they charge!! bang bang gooooo!

 

Hey hey you guys! I'm back! So I'm at Halloween Horror Nights standing in line for a haunted house and I get a phone call, and who was this caller? PRVRT!!!! LMAO! On the Family day note-I see that the conclusion has come to Nov 16. Good, that means it will be easier for me to get there. Hopefully next weekend I can make it out there, I decided to stick around the sports bar a bit longer. The last 2 weeks that I didn't work there I kind of fell short on my bills :-\ But we'll see. In my opinion, going wif Works is not such a good idea. Just think about it...whats Works does is come up with a modified map and sells the same map to pple everywhere. Whats wrong with that? Well, as all of you know by now, all evos are not the same.

Here's my experience while visiting Pruven Performance and watching Al reflash 3 evos...one of which had a Works reflash plus bov and cat-back exhaust. When Al did a base run on the dyno, the car only produced 257whp (wif WOrks reflash). Al then proceeded to wipe out what Works had done with his own reflash. After like 6-7 runs on the dyno (fine tuning) he was able to push out like 275whp.

My cousin's car was one of those tuned by Al that day. After Al was done with his car (ARC air box, EBC), it was pushing out 280whp.

Again, every car is different!!!

see i agree but then again i disagree. Thing is, works makes their flash for pretty much any evo. Sounds like AL is flashing to the mods you have done in which case would be "off" if you added mods, but more speciaifc which is better... just my $0.02

EIther way I dont really care but I thought I would support my thoughts. If you ask me, get a standalone and live forever :-)

I'm just saying there's no 1 map that can suit all Evos. Was talking to Al a couple of days ago and he told that he tuned a completely stock evo for 290whp.

Anyway, I do agree that a standalone is the best way to go if you know your stuff and have the money. AEM EMS : $1500 Tuning :$xxx

I don't plan on adding any mods after the reflash, so for me it would be perfect. All the other mods I plan on doing after would be purely cosmetic, like maybe a c-west bodykit, wheels, etc.
