yeah... if you have one in the test pipe already that you bought then you shouldnt really need another one, but most people put the bung for their wideband 02 in the DP right where it meets the cat delete... mainly because when it comes time for inspection, they can swap it out.... eric, what did you do with the 02 bung in your catback ? did you plug it ? what you can do is move your 02 sensor that is in your cat to the catback, i am pretty sure it has enough wire to reach and we can just plug the one in your cat delete until later.
i also vote for 3... not saying that it would, but should anything happen, you can always get your money back and it gives things time to play out and still mod
chris, brian got his DP coated by jethot... they are pretty cool, they have several coatings and will send you a catalog and vhs tape <-- pointless, with all of their products... go to their website. I got a quote to have my UICP coated and it was 65 i think. If you have the time, the coating is well worth it, Brians downpipe was almost touchable by hand after running the car for awhile. I'm not sure what the ams coating is, probably a brushed aluminum look... check with jet hot, they have chrome, black, aluminum, colors, whatever you want. Also, i still have that buschur upper pipe i need to give to you... i think you should have it coated as well... take out some of the scratches and coating the guy before me put on it in order to seal the "pin holes" he had on it

The AMS manifold was coated by Classic Coatings. It's their Cerma-Chrome or some other crap like that. It was very shiny when I first got it but not its more of a glossy grey. I recommend getting the Jet-Hot 2000 coating on all your parts as their chrome finish is only good for non-turbo applications. They have black, grey and blue as color options in the 2000.
My old AMS dp was coated in the grey and now my current parts are coated black. The stuff is awesome and like Ric said you can pretty much grab the dp bare-handed after running the engine.

one thing though, im not sure if i would get headers coated in that grey you had... the finish was a bit rough for something that is so visible. if it is under a heat shield then yeah that would be great, or the DP, hotside, compressor housing 02, definitely... but for headers... whatever ams used looks great, but i bet jet hot has something a bit smoother as well.

They have a white coating as well but dunno what the temp range is. Don't coat headers with their Chrome. It's only rated to 1300 degrees F and the header gets way hotter than that.
the o2 bung that was in the catback, i plugged with a transmission drain plug when me and my friend put it on in charlotte, got it at the lexus dealership that he works at. i am probably going to go with #3. jason she's the girl you seen me with when you got out of the movies. did you see that big turd cutter she has? i used to date her like seven years ago and now that i'm back in nc we basically started where we left of. she likes the car and she doesnt mind rolling down the windows with the crank so thats a big plus!

outstanding, cant wait to see it, i wonder if it will be quicker then yours now with only a few mods added to it... just break her in right. the 02 comes ported and coated same as the mani... should be easy, and its amazing how easy the bolts came out of brians old mani and 02/hotside and heatshield with a little PB blaster.... sure wish we would of had some when trying to work on someone elses stubborn a$$ car

I think w/ everything taken off the VIII and put on the IX (minus the cams) I can run a 12.5 or better w/ a good tune. But like you said I gotta break her in good first....
So you ended up going w/ the stock ported and coated O2 housing instead of a ss one....Im interested to see the gains you see....I bet itll pull hard as hell up top. When are you supposed to get the parts in? Ill be here during all of x-mas exodus, I figure I can visit home during my PCS to Lewis. + I wanna swap all the parts over to the IX
