EVO Wreck in Stuart.
EVO Wreck in Stuart.
I didn't witness it.. but my sister called me saying that a WW EVO took out a light pole on US1 in stuart and I was just curious if anyone knew who the person was and if they were alright? My sister said they shut down all of US1 so i'm assuming that it was something serious. If anyone knows anything post it up because im curious, thanks.

STUART — U.S. 1 was closed just south of Johnson Road for more than 2 hours Sunday afternoon, after a vehicle crashed into a power pole, causing wires to fall along all six lanes of the road.
Stuart Police Sgt. Bill Pecci said Nicholas Fotopoulos, 25, of Stuart, evidently suffered a seizure that caused him to crash into the pole. He said Fotopoulos was taken to Martin Memorial Medical Center with what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Although the lines fell on, and damaged, two other vehicles, no other drivers were harmed in the incident, Pecci said.
"Thank God it was a Sunday," said Pecci, in reference to the relatively lighter traffic on the road compared to a weekday.
Pecci said Florida Power & Light Co. crews were on hand early Sunday evening. Southbound traffic remain restricted while repairs were being made.
Pecci said some businesses, including a Shell station near the intersection, were without power after the incident. The exact number of homes and businesses that lost power was not immediately known.
Pecci said Fotopoulos also crashed into a residence along Martin Luther King Avenue on Nov. 18, again because of an apparent seizure.

dude do u have any idea how hard it is to live life with out a car? regardless of seizures or not? maybe he had surgery or maybe he was taking medication for it and he hadnt had a seizure for a while, then suddenly he had one? things like that happen all the time. If you have a seizure im almost positive u lose ur license for like 6-12 months (not sure how long). **** happens man, think before u talk. Why not say something more along the lines of i hope hes okay instead of being heartless?

Driving is a privledge, not a right, so when you have a known, pre-existing condition that could cause you to put yourself and other people in jeopardy and you decide to keep driving, that's just selfish and stupid.

Well he already crashed into a house only 4 months ago and now he's crashed again. I'm sorry for his condition, but when it has the ability to harm other people...it's time to take the bus.

People with known serious health/medical conditions should not be driving. Why put them and other people at risk?
