David, sorry to hear you sold the 240. What are you looking into getting?

 

So am I. I'm waiting on my adjuster to look at the car tommorrow for a suplemental estimate.. It looks as if I have some suspension damage as well, so it looks as if I may need 2 new axles and 2 new shocks. The kit should be in this Thursday and my lights should be here this Friday or next Monday. As soon as I get the car back, I'll have it detailed and will ask either Carlos or David for some assistance with pics.

Sunrise . . . that's way below ft lauderdale. I can't make it for a possible 6 hr drive.

Sold the 240 to a shop owner in winter park, O-town. He wants to do a promo car w/ a CA18DET. The SR motors are starting to ballon out of control in price.


Today, I'm the owner of a 91 Black w/ silver ground effect, Talon TSi FWD. Interior is great. Body is good. Completely stock. A fellow DSM'er helped me look and test drove the car.

problems
1) one of the axle is ticking = bad
2) hydraulic is bad either the master or slave cyl
3) cheap brake bakes = fading feel
4) stock clutch isn't going to hold if I start hitting the track.
5) doesn't feel fast at WOT. I see it but not feel it.

Mixed
1) rebuilt cyl head but the machinist used the one off the 4g61T = lesser airflow (big draw until I found out)
2) 17's rims
3) still in o-town at my friend house.

Good
1) new synchros (big draw for me)
2) new 14b (big draw again)

 

awesome find.. what plans and time frame are you looking at?

 

slow time frame.
1) maintance issues
2) upgrade fuel pump using Denso for a Supra TT and power wire upgrade to it. Bigger ground wire to the battery too.
3) bigger injectors for an eventual Evo 3 Big 16G TC and its supporting mods. I don't need to go any faster. If so, I need a rollcage, and it's ugly. Not my cup of tea.

Also, getting a 20G TC for a FWD is crazy. I will never get grip!!

Can you ask your buddy w/ the shop, "is there a way to get lug nut key for enkei w/o buying a whole net set of lugs." On my talon, there is a damn flat, and the previous owner didn't give me a key.

 

hey, i was down in the tampa and in the clearwater areas this past week (jan 11th-17th) and i didnt see many modified lancers. I saw plenty of ES, LS and OZ rally models driving around, but they were almost all stock. I only saw one lancer with a body kit and some serious work put into it and that was inside the disney world complex.

Where were all you lancer owners this past week.....I really wanted to see some of Floridas pride.
