Orlando Weekly Meets
Exactly Manie my thinking, your numbers are about equal to what I got, but I was talking to John today and I think we can make it happen. With a much larger Throttle Body, a ported intake Mani, I'm sure there's some power to be had there. Also I'm going to tighten the waste gate finally. If the car was ran on waste gate alone it stayed at 18PSI, so I'm hoping to up it to about 26-27 PSI. A issue I was having was the boost controller, John and I wanted more power but we couldn't get it on the dyno. At 100% duty cycle on the boost controller on pump gas it maxed out a 22.3 PSI and still made 374HP & 358TQ. We did not tune it on pump gas either because it was interfering with the meth map, so after the 1st run you saw us use the meth, but that's no longer going to be a issue thanks to the access port and other products that are out there to do full map switching on the fly. Lastly at 100% duty cycle on the boost controller on meth the car maxed out at 29.5 PSI. Not good enough if you want to make huge numbers. So here's the plan of attack for that. Either get a pill for the boost controller and try to push it harder or I'm already going to be getting Buschur's Dual Stage boost controller to not have to worry about it any more...
I will try to give you a run for your money here soon, I just gotta get everything together, there's a lot happening here, and I got to make sure I get the right things ASAP, it was you and Manny who started me on the right path, I'm not trying to venture off of it at any time...

I can't wait to see your car done.
About the WasteGate Actuator.
I noticed that my boost was spiking higher than usual and I was not holding boost well.
I decided to un-bolt the WGA and open it to service it. Turns out it was all nasty in there and then I found 1 of the O-Rings was bad and leaking.
Mike at Forge worked out a deal for me on the new up-dated actuator for the IX. Better and won't get nasty inside. Thank you, Mike at Forge.
Wow, what a difference. Turbo spools so much faster and it holds so much better boost. Not to mention, I think boost can be dial now to infinity.
I got to tell you that the car feels so good on Pump now at 25 psi, it is awesome, even with a Clutch that slips on Hi Boost(soon to be replaced).
So the actuator has alot to do with how the car performs.
I do recommend you get it, if you don't have it
You my friend are not very far from the party!!!
That is the way to think, Ruben.

That's good news to hear brother because I bought my Forge IX waste actuator from TTP a while back, but I haven't dialed it in where it needs to be. I'll make sure to get it fixed

Mani, I wouldn't argue with that, but spending $1,695.00 for very little gain isn't worth it IMHO. I mean you can buy a HTA35R for $1,699.00. $4 more for over 200+ more HP... Now that's how I'm thinking and as the reason why I didn't buy a green....
But your still sticking with your 16G. Everyone's preception of the LT is wrong. It's a street turbo and not really made for competing at the track although it does an O.K. job there also, I have no complaint, and no cams. I could have gone bigger turbo a long time ago if I wanted to, trust me on that one, but bigger is too laggy and takes out the fun of driving it daily. As you know, my car spools just as quick if not quicker than yours. So what I'm saying is that, at the track, the 16, and the 20G might be close, and even on the dyno if maxing the 16G until you take a close examination of where both cars are at after 7200RPM, but when it comes to the street, it becomes a different story, and maybe that's what Manie was really trying to say. So I agree with Manie. If you truly are using a 16G, mod for mod + same set up16G<20G.

Agreed
Well I can't argue with the fact that the 20G is a good turbo no doubt for street runs and what makes it so attractable is the fact that you don't have to change your manifold, but if I was going to build a real heavy street racing machine, I would have to go with a 30R. But now if I'm going to be buying a 30R it's a few dollars more for a HTA35R which can makes tons of power with less lagg, and lagg isn't such a bad thing while driving it daily.. I see it as saving gas

. Manie and myself have heard this a million time, but for now
and have been for a while, the LT boyz are still going strong. Until such time that change is required. Will do it again
That's looking like a great start David
I'll look forward to seeing the big boost results as you haven't even awoken that beast yet. Very very impressive for self-tuned!
