I am much more **** with my work than most. What is acceptable elsewhere much of the time does not fly here. We also archive all of our work so if or when someone states "so and so tuned my car to XXXX" not only do we have the tune on file for years to come, we also have all of the datalogs on file to document exactly how the car was tuned at the time.

Someone had the nerve to send me a PM on a Sunday stating that they are pissed off that their CEL light is blinking all of a sudden when in my records they were tuned in 2008 and never had an issue whatsoever. I have the tunes and logs on file.

My response was that there are 50 things that can cause the CEL light to blink out of the blue over a year down the line and about 45 of them have to do with the user.

11.5 being the ideal WOT afr, 14.7 idle/cruising and 15.3 being gas mileage.

Each car is going to be different an thus require to be tuned a little different. 11.5 & 11.3 AFRs may not seem like much but I know on my car I tuned it to 11.6 AFR tapering to 11.3 at redline, and was picking up random 1-3 knock counts on every other run, I richened it up a tad to 11.4 tapering to 11.2 at redline and all was better.

I have noticed that with the IXs, they seem to like a tad leaner AFR than the VIIIs.

Like I have stated before, each tuner has a different style or methodology when it comes to tuning. As long it is a safe, reliable, powerful and repeatable then all is well.

We still need to figure out this random idle tring to die thing. I already ordered new TB seals, plugs, a TB spacer and some other things. I am thinking possibly it's the seals but it doesnt happen all the time. The RPM's go to around 5-600 and AFR's go real lean.

You have a VTA Tial BOV right... that will be 98% of the problems there since you aren't running speed density. When can you bring it over so we can look it over again, and not have a time constraint? I am off all day friday, and i think I am open saturday also. I have a set of plugs (used) but in good shape that we could swap in too. If you want I can put V7 on your car also. I have your rom saved so I will smooth it and transfer it over to V7 just in case you wanna run it.

my car liked 11.8 on pump and 12.2-12.3 on the meth.

Did you get the works aperture seals for the TB? Allowed me to hold 20-21 at redline, probably a 20WHP + mod on my car. Mase had me at 329WHP before the seals, put the seals in, next time on the dyno with same boost i was at 360WHP

Vega, based on still*boostin's post history is a guy named Joshua Vega.

I am fairly certain I used to tune both of their cars. Phenix started playing with his own car after a number of sessions of holding the laptop shotgun while I was driving and tuning.

I swear that Vega name sounds strikingly familiar. I should run a search on my reflash history. I have 5 years of customer reflashes archived on 3 hard drives.
I rarely go in the forums and post so most dont know me. Im the so called Vega tuned. As for u tuned my car yap u did once back in 05 thats why it sounds familiar good memory though. Apparently with Wills car {stillboostin} He did some changes to his meth kit. He added a Labonte flow meter guage. while he was doing that he broke the nipple for boost on the labonte box. He opened it and did something to fix it. After he did that he said that the meth kit was randomly spraying meth at idle and that car was acting weird. 2 to 3hrs later it blew up. I have tuned a few meth cars and have had no problems. One of them had a 100k miles with a red putting down 520whp+ for a year. Now his stock.

Aron, I ported your rom over to V7 and smoothed the map. It is ready to go if you wanna flash it over... Why not get the MIL.SPEC throttle body shaft seals?

The Q is still VTA, tial does now make 2 recirc BOVs one is physically huge (alpha Q), the other the QR is like the one you have but with a recirc port... The QR (recirc'd Q)

Was originally going to move to speed density, but it never materialized.

I see no use going to SD unless you break 500hp...

Mine did the same thing when I first put the car on V7, but after quite a bit of trial and error, I came up with a solution for my car, it is posted in the ECUflash forms.

***Notes***
*Before doing anything, you need to adjust the BISS as the base idle settings are different in the V7
*FAA Bit 9 (Enable Warmup Ign Retard) will change your fuel trims by approx. 8% when set to zero as seen on my car...
*Percent Low Temp Timing Trim vs Coolant Temp- When this was at the stock setting my car would jump up the idle to about 3000 RPM, therefore I zero'd the columns out and now it starts up jumps to about 1500 RPM and slowly steps down to target idle.
*Closed Loop Long Term Trim Control- In the EDM rom these are fairly high compared to the 96940011 rom so I lowered them to suit my Idle & Cruise Hz readings.
*Open loop load and throttle. I matched these to the 96940011 rom because these are the open loop switchover points and I didn't wanna retune my map as much.
