It was alright. I was only there once or twice talking to them, they never worked on my car. They had a handful of lifts but when I talked to them about my Evo all they would do is purchase and install the AMS stages for the Evo.

I have had a few friends who worked there and my co-worker knew the owner. It wasn't a bad place from what I can tell but it sounds like it was just mismanaged and couldn't capture enough business.

I never thought I'd miss Next Level, but I do - there are just no import focused shops here. Speedsouth is, well...Speedsouth. And Motorvations is all Honda and not much of a shop really.

MPfab isn't so much an import shop, but if you put money in Walker's hand, most likely he'll work on it, and do a hell of a job in the process.

I've seen Speedsouth before but from what I can tell they are more domestic focused instead of import? Has anyone here ever dealt with them?

Yeah, he's a good dude and a heck of a fabricator. His car is a beast too.

I have. They do good work and they work on practically anything like he said. Just wish there was more variety in this town.

Haha Jim is great if you have a honda, I think his reputation as one of the best hondata tuners in the southeast has earned him the ability to do less mechanical work for peeps and just straight tune. In fact my buddy is bringing his turbo hatch up monday with a fresh built motor to put on Jim's dyno.

He's tuned several of my cars, but yeah there is noone around here I would have trusted to work on my evo when I had it. Speedsouth but they are damn proud of their **** with their crack highway robbery prices.

Exactly. And since they are the only ones who do imports, they basically charge what ever they want. I would never have trusted Autolabs, Caveman or any of the other fly by night places that have come and gone over the years. I forget the name of the place with the dyno out in Hueytown. They supposedly have gotten into Nissans, and perhaps other imports - but I've never been there when it was open to know what they are about. I wouldn't mind taking my wife's G35 out there to see what they have to offer as far as tuning and parts. I can't remember what its called, anybody know what I'm talking about?

If only Walker, Reed and Brian Nichols could pool their talents and open up a spot. Or if only I was independently wealthy and I could afford to do it myself.

Brian would much rather work on turbos and fun stuff than cars all day. Reed is probably the same way, although I haven't talked to him in years. Walker does amazing work though.

@poo: payin' the car off is a great feeling. I'm thinking about doing the next best thing, selling it (stems the financial bleeding )
