ALABAMA.. who is all here?
I'll have some pics posted up later. I took a whole bunch. Overall it was a great showing for Evos. All in all I think we were all much more consistent than any other brands. If that matters...lol...Now it's back to work on a few things I have had in the works.
Be looking for those pics later today....I have quite a few of the racing action, and some car show shots too.
Brian, it was great seeing you reel in your times all day. Great 11.9 with such short seat time. We'll do better next time.
You guys better beware of the Tarmac Black9...

I was just happy I didn't get knocked out in the first round by that 240.
I either have some really bad engagement issues, or my clutch is just toasted. It's really hard to get it in gear, and during our run when I went into 3rd it just slipped once I hit 34psi, then 4th gave me the finger too. tried it on the way home with the same results.
My best trap/time was a 12.39 @ 119. 2nd gear wasn't cooperating, and from my lower trap speeds in the 1/8th, it looks like that race gas hurt me more than it helped as I wasn't able to get it tuned out.
I did end up running a 12.38 @ 94 against that 240 in the first round eliminations... I was actually on the breaks the last 1/4 of the track as I knew I had him and didn't want to beat on the car too badly. I should have stayed in it, at least I would have broke in the ll's :-/
btw: blowing off all 4 off of the line is not a fun feeling

YES! SOMEONE ELSE IN MY BOAT!!! Just don't rock it
I have a stack of low 12 second passes at 119-120, from not being able to get 2nd. I found that short-shifting it and/or lowering the launch rpm somewhat helped to cure my problem, of course after I learned this, my clutch **** the bed (on the return road).
What clutch are you using? mileage on the transmission? stock or built?
I put in a call to buscher this morning, looks like my spare will be getting boxed up and sent off in the next few days. November is shaping up to be a very expensive month for me.
Good to meet you Q! Want to sponsor me?
here is my post guys. I'll upload my vids later

I'm thinking about heading to MMP this Friday to try and do better than 12.9@105... Hopefully the S1 cams and no lift to shift will get me there.
Anyone else thinking about going?

Hey guys got all the pics uploaded. I put together a photo gallery of the shots I took. We got there late because my Evo had a brake problem, we spent most of the morning trying to pressurize the system to no avail. Found out the last second the front driver line was pinched...
But here is just one of many....see what "evovin" has for us...10's Yes !

Brian C. went from 13.8 to 11.9 with some EPM goodies. Touring Bubble got a second in FIS ! and also went 11.7's all day ! All in all a great showing for Evos guys !

not me... but if you get a chance, drop me a line on the way into town I'll meet ya somewhere & get that other ecu from you. I'm gettin ready to drop the other trans in a box to buscher.. and somewhat considering a jump in clutches. Not sure I can really afford that right now though.

I'll most likely be bringing my launch RPM down, and I've been grannying second, so it takes FOREVER to respool the damn turbo. I think part of the problem is that I still have the stock mounts and with the motor pitched forward it's locking me out, so a front motor mount is in the cards.
It was cool seeing all of you guys down there, sorry if I wasn't really engaging, as I was kinda in a funk from being up since 3 am and dealing with these friggin issues.
I guess we all had some type of problem preventing us from running all out. I have a ACT HDSS/Prolite Flywheel and its a@# or the guy that installed it didn't take his time installing it. I ran my car the best I could under the circumstances (popping out of second and not engaging in 4th), its just frustrating because i know the car had more in it!!! Due to all of this I think I will be doing some tranny work before I get back on the track!!! I'm like most of you, I just dont have the money to put 1000's of dollars into the Evo just yet!!!
I've got an exedy twin, not sure if it's the HD or what, but I'd say it prolly has 20-25k on it. I know I've put ~ 10 on it myself and quite a few passes at the strip. Tranny is the original, 98k on it and is stock. I'm debating about sending it to TRE this go-round, but it means my car will be down longer since I'll need more $$$
. I may just flush it and throw some amsoil in it and see if it doesn't help with the notchiness. Honestly at this point if I was going to spend money, I'd rather re-ring the motor.

Actually, all in all, doing the clutch in mine wasn't really that big of a deal, a lot more hype than issue.. of course I say that, and my **** is torn up right now, but I think the issue lies elsewhere.
Its cool. I've been in a bit of a hazze for a couple of weeks now, generally bummed about both of my cars-but really disappointed with the evo.
there are all sorts of threads about ACT clutches doing wierd things. there's not much to munge up installing a clutch in one of these things, its not hard to do and as long as jay didn't hang the trans off the clutch (and he didn't) its not very likely to be an installation error.

Yeah, It was weird, but within a week or so I was having an issue with 5th gear. I understand where you are coming from though. Act has been a hit or miss company, lol.
^ what he said..LoL...I got 40,000 hard miles outta my OEM clutch and that was with at least 100+ passes at the strip. The clutch game is just that a game sometimes you strike out. I know my twin disc will hold whatever I throw at it but you got to be able to get it into gear, just like you guys everyone can testify about their experience with clutches, no matter what the brand no one is immune to clutch issues. Or Evo issues for that matter, once you have something dialed in then another issue holds you back.
Spec Ptrim Twin Grabs like a ****....chatters, juss like every other twin...lol...I was their prototype for the 6speed. Cesar(GG GSR09 that did 11.7 sunday) has their sprung 6 puck and it does great. For the $$ and what you get, it's their best choice. That is what I am suggesting to my customers for a street setup for 400-500hp, I believe it is rated at 600ft/lb. My Ptrim is rated @1100ft/lb. way too much clutch for what I need, right now. So far my clutch engages fine just not super fast. All that rotating mass is heavier than stock. So far so good, as I have about 10,000miles on it...we will see
