We'll be there, Hopefully about 5-6 of us will be representing. Nice RR Evovin. We'll be setting up an area of car show entries this year for EPM. My RR will finally be put back to looking good with all new body panels and paint. I've also got a few other custom bits that I will highlight. Maybe we'll have a few of us enter the races. And maybe that white CRX-HF will be banned if he enters bracket racing...lol...

Thats a beast for sure Kenny....spray and all.....can't wait to see that thing run. Might have to come down before November to watch you run....That Crx is the bane of my buddy TB. He stole both classes of the bracket racing 2 years ago.

It's been two years since I've gotten a clean pass, (yeah here come the ricer excuses ), it went 11.8@122 in 07 with a 50 trim @ 20psi and the 75 shot for s&g, but the car was only making ~420ish whp.

thanks guys.. a fair amount of work went into it since the engine popped 10 months ago, trying to make it look a little bit nicer. not sure if I achieved that goal, but at least its cleaner

I should have it out at IFO, not sure how competitive I'll be, it'll depend on whether or not I can get the th350 swapped in and working, otherwise I'll be racing on borrowed time with a volvo auto.

last time it made a really good pass at the track was 07, when I had stock cams, the stock intake manifold (REALLLLY ****tay, choked the engine above around 5500), the aforementioned 50 trim, and a world class t5. on my last run I smoked both the clutch and the transmission, and I've kinda been in limbo since then. I might go back to a manual if this automatic stuff doesn't shape up soon, but that'll be a lot of $$ to get something that won't break after 7 passes, and a clutch that won't go up in smoke 100ft/lbs shy of what its rated at.

Right now as it sits, its got some fancy-pants swedish reground cams, I have stroked it to 2.5 (up from 2.3), its got longer rods and shorter pistons than stock, a ton of headwork.. I picked up around 40% flow on the intake side and I stopped at about 25% improvement on the exhaust side. I would post the raw numbers, but I'm not entirely sure how accurate they are, I haven't added the stuff to double check my flowquik. It is balanced within about ~1 cfm on both sides across the board.

Custom intake manifold, designed to hit approx. the 4th harmonic, custom jack-legged exhaust manifold and a T67-p trim in a .83 housing.

I can't really say much about it yet because I've gotta sort some stuff out with the shifter linkage and its not tuned worth a damn (WOT spooling up the afrs are around 9:1 after I scaled the map around 120%, but they lean out up top to around 11.5 at 7psi), but I can step on it in 1st from a roll and it'll blow the tires off the back. With the old motor, it would sorta do that on the kickdown from 2nd to first, but it took about 16psi and around 400whp. I don't its making that much at 7, but it is spooling up a WHOLE lot faster than before, so I reckon the extra 200 cc's, the head work, and the cams are really waking things up.

technical specs without reading all of the above:
volvo b230
2.5 L crank
RSI rods and pistons, long rods. 'rollerwave' pistons designed by endyn (sp?)
9:1 CR
Folksracing FS324 regrinds
Volvo b234 16v head
T67/P trim
nx 75 dry (fuel solenoid is just hanging out, not hooked up)

there are two 044's in the back, 5 gallon cell, -8 feed and return, mallory reg
1k cc injectors
Megasquirt V3 w MsII chip, wasted spark, dsm coils (yeah boy! )

modified volvo AW71 transmission (Asin-warner A43D)

welded volvo rear end and some creative custom subframe modifications.

yep, same exact problem I had on the dyno. changed em out, turned up the boost, increased my dwell time... bam, 70 extra hp.

The volvo is back on top. got a quick base tune on the car last night so I can run it tonight at the track, didn't mess with the boost, didn't mess much with the timing aside from pulling around 4 degrees out from my previous map, pretty much just because, and then getting the air-fuels sorted out. A lot different 'curve' on the VE table than the old setup.

anyway, without further ado, at 19psi and no nitrous the volvo made 435rwhp, and on the 75 shot it made 512. I don't know what the torque was, but when I did a mock drag launch it tried to rip the front strap off the car and spun tires on the dyno.

previous best was 465 @ 27-28 psi no nitrous, and right at 500 on the same 75 shot. when I get the gm trans in the car I'll run it on up to 30 and see how it really breaths.
