New Beginning: EVO 8

We've been talking for the last few months about buying an EVO. While we were up in New York. We ended up buying a set of D2 coilovers and Mickey Thompson 26 x 8.5 ET Drags. We still didn't have an EVO yet So we started talking to some customers and friends. Anthony (Cyloc) pointed us to an EVO 8 for sale in Florida. So on our way back to Florida we checked it out. The next afternoon it was our's.

So far we've picked up a Precision T4 6765H dual ceramic ball bearing turbocharger, two (2) Bosch 044 fuel pumps and a Weldon A2040 fuel pressure regulator. We have quite a few other parts on the way. I will post as soon as they're here.

The plan for our EVO is to go a 9.31 or quicker. Our street Supra went 9.32 @ 154 weighing 3600lbs. So it has to go quicker Right now we plan on running it on E85.

Horrible picture a customer took while on the trailer.

I will take some pictures tomorrow when I get back to Tampa from Orlando. And I will update the thread as parts come in We're looking forward to this project!

Alpha from Tampa Who are you?

I really wish we could attend. But. That's the same day as the 2010 Tampa Supra meet. That the engine, trans and transfer case are out of the EVO right now waiting on parts to arrive

Some carbon fiber parts came in today. I will take pictures when I get time. Also, the engine parts (pistons, rods, cams, etc) should be here next week! I will update with pictures when they do. Also, picked up an S2000 for a shop project as well. It will go a bit slower and be a bit slower than the EVO though.

I first fell in love with the Supra in 1995. I love them. I feel the Evo is a far superior platform. AWD and lighter. I still have a special place for a Supra.

I hear ya. I just enjoy the practicality of driving the four door everyday.

I doubt we will ever have nothing to do with a Supra. We're currently building a 25.5 Supra right now. The street Supra is being sold to help fund the EVO and the 25.5 Supra builds. Not to mention we set out to go 9's full weight 76mm with the street Supra. First time out we went 9.6 then followed it in Texas with a 9.3. Time to move on from that
