At least that's not too far of a tow from my house. I'll have to check them out. My car is in pieces in my garage and has been for a year and a half now.

 

Talk to Alex, he is the one that put my Evo 9 back together.
The only other advice I would have is make sure you have everything you need. The little stuff is always the pain.

Yeah man, I've been gathering it all. Most bolts, stud, etc. are being replaced while everything is out, just need to figure out what I have left to buy. My engine build hit every snag possible because of COVID. Builder has everything finally so I can get my car up and running again. I was gonna do the swap myself since I wasn't working but that changes in a few weeks.

 

Yes many of my parts were delayed but we got it done!
Good luck on the build up, they are fun when they are done right.

 

Head gasket by far took the longest to come in. Everything else had come in over about six months (had to have a second crank built by Callies because they sent the wrong one originally, which was like a four month wait) but the head gasket was on back order forever.

I can't wait till it's done - long rod 2.2 4G64 at 10:1... it's gonna be a blast.

Also, we really, REALLY need to get something going for all the Evo owners around here. They exist, they just never come out. I see maybe one Evo every couple of months out in the wild nowadays. I always try and talk to them (well, the driver) when I come across them. When mine is back up and running I'll daily that bish like I have been since 2006.

 

I'll have to hit them up once I'm back on the road. Need most of the services they offer lol. I'm guessing they can prep for wrap as well.

 

Yea that would be awesome to get something together. I'm probably going to swing by that event at the end of march at the detailing supply store on Fowler, as I live like 5 minutes from there. I want to get back into autox as well, super bummed that Brooksville was "closed" unless you are in that Porsche club rolls-eyes* I still have my beater CRV so I only drive it to work here and there, usually Fridays. Let the g/f drive it to diner Friday night and she had a ball lol.

 

As long as I'm not working I'm gonna try and make it up there.

I haven't autocrossed since 2009. It was definitely fun. Once my build is done I might get back into it. Really want to start getting into HPDE and get back on the drag strip.
