either I missed a post that got deleted or ^ is completely off topic. Lets stick the the discussion at hand.

Back to the top, EVOM has their rules including those about group buys. You have to be a paying member to even post that type of stuff here. So far the only user that has that ability for the club is evo soul. so far the mods of evom have been incredibly generous with our "disobedience" mainly because of souls efforts. So before you start raging on him for sending you that PM go to the main page and "READ THE RULES". If you don't like Evom or our status on evom, nobody is stopping you from staying.

And I would also like to send out a reminder for those who are posting random threads in the club section that this is a "club" section, relevant info for the "club" should be posted here. if its not relevant please keep it in the Canadian section or another appropriate section of the forum.

Not trying to be a cop or anything but I may have to apply for mod status just to clean house

pure battle damage. lol joking.

Its got a little damage on the passenger side but nothing major, all repairable
I am making the upgrade to Rick's Second gen lip kit, front and rear. and going to buy a hood. I am ordering 1 hood for myself and 1 hood for another club guy.

I have a ton of things to do on the car, and a little tight on cash. I was more or less ummm forced to go on vacation. In some ways I would have been happy to spend it on the car. but I lost that battle, and am still losing the war. lol

Still have to complete my dual exhaust system with minor bends to the driver side tip. Then I have to finally fix my EVOSOUL badging. I dont know I might try to raise money in other ways. Its hard doing both club stuff and projects.

sigh...

Other then that, things are fun, one thing for sure is my car doesnt look as tight as yours. Damn

wow.

One of my friends and i got to talking about the 'TLC' at dinner tonight and he sent me the link to this thread when he got home. I showed this to my dad, and he agreed, TLC seems like one of the shadiest automotive club we've ever heard of. (Heard, as we can only base our opinion on what fellow members of the group is saying)

We're both rather highly involved in the local (GTA) auto scene, ranging from euro p-cars to the newly acquired sumo wrestler from japan and as i said before, we are less then impressed by the shady business techniques.

A 'Car Club' should be a group of fellow enthusiast who help each other out and share their passion for whatever it is that they drive. That means helping each other out, getting the best prices for products for everyone to share, At no point should money be put into anyone's pockets. A Group Buy is for the members, not the organizer's personal gain.

There are plenty of great car clubs out there that no one should have to put up with the crap that TLC believes in, even if it's not a Lancer specific club, there's still GTAcars, which is a great group of guys, ran by the people, for the people.

Anyways, we just felt like we needed to voice ourselves.

TLC,

totally exposed. good job OP.

That was a different informative post. All feedback is appreciated. Please post any positive recommendations that you feel would help the club feel less like a "shady business" or feel free to send me a PM me personally if you feel there is something incorrect with my choices.

Once again, thank you and your father for the feedback

Edit: Getting to the part where you mentioned what a car club should be about, I highlighted above. Personal gain .. lol I wish .... sigh

I think the lack of experience comes into play. First post, never been to events / meets.

I think if you came out to a meet and got to know alittle more about the club, then your point will be valid, but for a first time post i think you are judging to fast.

But the OP, has been here a while and even did a group buy so he had some valid points.

I don't agree with poeple who run group buys "uping" price a slight bit or any at all to make a little extra for doing a little "work" if you wanna call it that.
If you've come home from work, washed your hands and the sink isn't covered in black soap...your not working.
I'm not saying this happens just I wouldnt agree with it.

BUT like Infamous said, nobody forces you to participate. Just like him I have never been a part of one, not saying that is a reason why I haven't tho.
I just don't want the same thing 15 other people are doing to their cars lol. Takes away the fun of customization.

I'm a new member still just been a part of the club for a few months now but everyone is cool, nobody shady that I've run into. And I've been at EVERY meet even a few before I got my ride.
TLC is good $h!t and I'm proud to be a part of it so **** off and stick to the civic, cobalt or w/e it is you drive club.

Again, im not judging, just voicing my view on the 'club' which, from what i heard likes to take advantage of it's members.

I'd hate to spoil the lancer fest, as i dont even own a lancer...
