touch up paint for sure is going to show. I have a scratch on both side skirts of my GTS package and getting ready to sell them to make way for my new kit. My attempts to cover the long scratch came out look poor... then i had another guy do it who knows a thing or two about paint and that sucked just as bad. When you apply the paint then after you apply the clear coat. but its going to show for sure.

My original suggestion of buff filler is much better. Like RubberDuckey suggests the scratch X may be the best suggestion just short of going to a bodyshop to get it done, but since its multi panel, its not going to be cheap. thats for sure.

Scratch X costs like 10 to 20 bucks and you just need to get someone who has a high speed buffer and alot of time on their hands. I am talking multiple applications. It all comes downtown how bad they gutted the paint with the key.

There was a really bad scratch on my trunk that Rubberduckey was able to get out, and trust me it was terrible. restored it to 90% and I mean it was terrible before.

that said, sorry to hear that this happend to you

Ya sorry, Went to the dealer and I just shook my head. The black touch up for deep scratched looks like *****. On your car you will still see the line if you look close. Covers up the bare primer but ergh, line would still show depending on the lighting angle.

Now if you are able to do that and the above maybe.

They also have seemed to increase the price of the touch up pen $17 plus tax.

... well ... if i get the touch up pen.. will it damage it? cause i rather have a black line that shows up under a certain lighting then a clearly visible silver scratch mark across the side of my car... thats the reason i haven't washed my car yet... to let the dirt cover up the mark so i don't have my heart broken everytime i walk towards my car and see the scratch... *tear*

you could go to a bodyshop and pay the piper.

but the pen in my opinion will make it worse

the pen is not a tool of precision. it will be hard to get it in the crack. and it wont set perfect. second the clear coat is the same problem.

if ur going to try, consult with a shop for tips.

your better of with a scratch fix compound.

Yeah, dont resort to the touch up pen. It will never look near as good as it was before. Call your insurance. Post up pics too on how deep, people might be able to recommend a good compound to fix it...
