hit N run

Well Basically I went to a buddies dad's 50th on fri nite sat morning between 10-3am. parked my car in a parking lot nice big and busy. Anyways I come back to my car to discover this.

No witnesses, no paint transfer, no other parts but mine. No airbags deployed.

Anyways, Getting quoted from (an approved conartist) Body shop by the insurance company. I used to be manager at a body shop and to hear anyone tell me "cars are tough" and "can take a good hit" made me literally laugh in his face. Sorry no, this car will never be the same, it will never feel the same, and if i race and hit the wall this side I will be no more i guaratee that.

Anyways ill update as progress comes. What is pathetic is i pay 2200$ per year for about 10 yrs now on insurance for all my cars etc ive driven. So i get 1500$ rental car coverage fee which means I get a 33$ per day to drive either a ford focus or some other piece of garbage.

For NONE of the airbags to deploy was this because basically no key was in ignition or some other problem thats underlying that really needs to be adressed.??

that almost looks like it was rammed by something with a front or rear guard or even a plow. I'm really sorry to see that, it's almost painful to see because something similar happened to my lancer (no where as bad) but I know the feeling to come to see your car like this, mine's also black so it hits home. Were there any camera's in the parking lot?

How much is the quote for the repair? Parts replaced?

Wow that's crazy I can't believe the nerve of some people. It's stuff like this that makes me so nervous to bring my car anywhere. I hope everything goes well. If you need a bodyshop let me know. I know a amazing bodyshop that can fix you right up and you wouldn't tell the difference. They use German paint and usually work with bmws and porches

*** so sorry buddy!
It looks to be a truck with a chrome bumper! if you find the truck it will be scuffed and if he didnt clean the paint transfer off his bumper look for your PB
ask your buddy if his dad had any friends with trucks, prob a dodge, they love them chrome

Man I got hit going out of my driveway a couple days back....both passenger doors are messed....looks similar to yours except I dont have the fender damage but still.....even the frame is bent on the inside of the car.

Autobody shop quote $5400....so you're probably looking at even more than that....

That's steep but that's the price you pay for frame damage. Did your airbags pop? Anyone know at what point they would write off a lancer?

Bad luck buddy!

To answer you....airbags won't deploy unless the car is on.
