I have the same issue too. It happens every so often. I've never thought of letting the 3 clicks finish.

I have a manual transmission. The problem happened before my first 5k and before I installed a CAI. I figured the dealership would just blame my CAI as being the issue.

I recently began to believe it was the clutch. The only reason I say this is sometimes when I try to put the car into reverse, it does not always catch. The owners manual mentioned this and that if the car does not going into reverse properly, then I should just depress the clutch again and shift it back into neutral then reverse. Works everytime.

Maybe the reverse gear and the starting issue is related. All just guesses at this point.

your reverse problem sounds like a normal issue with manual transmission problem. Its not really a "problem" its just the way it works. It helps sometimes to give it gas before shifting into reverse i find. This is what i do, start the car, give it gas, and then shift. works like a charm...

now lets get back on topic.

I called Maple mitsubishi about our starting problem, they know what it is and in Canada we do not have a TSB, BUT we do have a survey tsb or something. I am awaiting a call now.

My RA doesn't seem to have this problem.. though I've had a weak start when it was like -30 outside and I parked it outside the whole night.

All the work for nothing. The problem occurred twice already after getting the relays put in. Sigh.

I guess I need an ecu re flash

Try the ECU flash and see what happens. I had a hard start yesterday. The thing is for me... it happens so rarely that it's not worth going to the dealer for it. lol

But if there's a fix I obviously want to know about it.

Always let the clicking stop and then turn key slowly. Works for me. I've got stock 2010 relays but tuned could be the difference it hasn't happened since a tune

Can anyone find anymore TBS updates for our cars. Perhaps there is other issues that already has a fix that we don't know about.

This has happened to my 2009 Ralliart also, seems to only be when it is damp outside. Wait for the clicking and then start is good advice but doesn't always help. I find turning all the air off inside the cabin (if you have the air set to auto it will turn the ac on sometimes and start the compressor taking up power), turning key to wait for the click to finish and sometimes pushing the gas helps start it. This has only happened to me maximum 3 to 4 times in the past 2.5 years. The other day I was convinced it wasn't ever going to start though, it took about 4 tries.

If you have a 2011+ Ralliart, the relays are already installed on the car. I'm still getting random no starts..>_>
