How to remove CVT shift knob?

I thought I would ask my fellow forum members how to remove the CVT shift knob that comes in the LANCER GTS CVT? I want to change it. So I twisted the bottom silver piece to the left and broke the clip so I have to change it for sure. But how do I remove the leather shift knob piece too?

I am totally stumped on what to do to take it off the knob after remove the bottom silver piece.

If someone could tell me how to remove it please let me know asap!

I thought all the knobs twisted off???

To me it looks like that silver thing is just a trim piece... and the actual leather knob would twist off.

I tried googling all ways of remove/uninstall/install lancer shift knobs before I posted here.

But anyways I got the problem solved calling my dealership markham mitsubishi, and they were friendly about it. Dealt with Dave from the service department. Did it quickly and free of charge. Could be the friendly relationship since I do take it in there for oil changes and bought the car there.

There's 2 clips on it that need to be lifted front and back at the same time and it comes off, that's what the dealer says.
