Brake Pads
okay so i got my brakes checked by non mitsu shop... they say i have 50-60% and i should not be worried about changing my pads any time soon
so mitsu was totally trying to rip me off here as i have only done 26k on my car and yes i may have driven a lil aggressive and braked hard at times (had to have a lil fun after all it is an evo) but still was shocked that they decided to tell me my brake pads may need to be changed soon.
i just want to thank you guys for reassuring me that they were prlly wrong.

okay this is not really brake pad related but i didnt want to start a new thread...
so i was feeling some wobble when breaking at high speeds... took it into a shop and they said its possible that the rotors are warped... any one have this issue before?
they said u can either buy new ones (prlly expensive as hell) or you can "machine" it... anyone have an idea what they mean by "machine" it or if they recommend it?
thanks for your help once again

Machining rotor means cutting a thin layer of metal out of the rotor with a brake lathe. It's usually done with a bolt on machine so it's parallel to the hub. The likely cost of brake pulsation is not wrap rotor but uneven pad bedding on the rotor causing it to have uneven spot. Cutting a layer of metal out also take out uneven pad bedding.. Just make sure they do proper bedding on the rotor after they machine it.
New rotors are gonna cost you WAY more than $175 tho. Some people resurface their rotors EVERY TIME they change their brake pads. I don't... I just drop in new pads... I would only resurface if I really need kg
I'm not really a fan of machining rotors because you are literally cutting material off of the rotor and therefore making the rotors thinner and thinner each time you do it.

$175 is more like aftermarket rotors for a civic! lol if you dont machine the rotor then at least sand down the surface and get the glaze off the rotor so you can get an even bedding from the new pads. That would be the minimum i would do..
if the rotor is overheated and warped then you will have to replace.. that usually cause by seized caliper or ****ty aftermarket rotor. these are things i wouldnt cheap out on.. just like tires and suspension and other things you put on the car.. it will bite you eventually..

Got some slightly used GSR rotors for sale, lots of meat and surface is flat (bring your tools to check). pm if interested.
