Current State of TLC Dealership Discounts?
do you get any discount from markham mitsu? thats where i got my car a month ago.
my car is at 2000km right now, and i was told i should get my first oil change when it get to 3000km, so i am trying to figure out where i should go to get it done

The dealerships I am aware of that have these discounts don't seem to apply it for "packaged services". So regular services like oil changes or stuff like regular maintenance items don't get discounts. But any other services should get discounts.
In 2010 Markham Mitsubishi expressed no interest in Aftermarket parts other then the limited selection of stuff they are currently have. After repeated talks there service / parts guys couldnt give an answers if they wanted to interact with the club or not.
how is the customer service from markham mitsu service tho?
i read from the forum that maple mitsu has awesome customer service, so i dont mind going a little further, if markham mitsu does not know how to make a happy customer

i think i know the answer already but i'm hoping to get a different answer!
so for the dealerships who are pro-aftermarket parts (where they actually sell them in the dealership) would they honor the factory warranty on the oem parts, for example: blown factory shocks on aftermarket springs (eibach pro-kit in particular)

Now if you are talking about selling aftermarket parts and not voiding your warranty on things that are B.S. No dealership should do that. And with the brands that we deal with it should never become an issue. Intakes, Exhausts, coilovers, are all things that should have no inpact on the warranty unless you have incorrectly installed them. 08Lanc3rGTS I am saying this in a general statement to everyone not you. I just need to make sure everyone understands the scoop of how far dealers are willing to go.
So far Maple Mitsubishi and Brampton Mitsubishi have made a formal declaration of Pro Aftermarket stance.
But for what you were saying about Springs, sorry, springs are what kill struts. Mitsubishi shouldnt warranty something like that unless its an approved part. If anyone disagrees with that I would love to hear it but its only fair.
No one will or should warranty OE struts if an owner puts springs on them. When you put springs on your car you are drastically shortening the life of the strut. If the strut dies, I am all for making the owner pay for the replacement strut.

I'm currently working on a discount for TLC members at Richmond Hill Mitsubishi where I work. Management doesn't seem to be game for selling aftermarket parts to a large extent, but we don't have a big enough customer base for them. If we get the discount and more TLC guys come service here, there may be opportunities in the future.
When it comes to dealerships installing aftermarket parts... I'm starting to think it will go on a case by case basis. Because for example I went to a dealer and was told as long as the parts look reputable... like they come in packaging from a reputable company... then they would install the part. If I brought them some random part in a random paper bag... they wouldn't. So I brought them StopTech brake pads in the original box and they installed it for me.
But the same dealership told another member they wouldn't install his SS brake lines.
So... ???
In a way tho I can understand about them worrying about liability. My private mechanic for my previous car had the same concerns. If you get some shady ebay part... they install it... and something goes wrong with the car... more than likely the person would hold the dealer responsible for "not installing the part properly".
My previous mechanic eventually stopped installing random parts for people... unless he knew the person well... because he got tired of people coming back for every little noise, etc. that the cheap part would make.

Ok so I've gotten a 15% discount on parts and labour for all TLC members who have a sticker. The discount does not apply to oil changes sorry but will apply to other services. We'd love to see more TLC guys in here and I'm sure if we have more business, we may start to sell aftermarket parts. As for the install, it will be on a case by case basis as Crester mentioned above. I won't make any promises, but I'm sure if you present the part properly there should be no problem. If any of you guys come in, make sure to say hi. If you don't know me personally, my name's Yas.
