Troubles after 48k Service
So yesterday I took my lancer in to get my 48k service. I got a call saying my steering fluid is dirty but can be done later, so I said I'll just wait.
After I received my car, I felt like the steering was extremely stiff and felt nothing like it did before I took my car in. So now I think I've become paranoid thinking they've done something to the fluid or the actual steering column to make me more aware of the problem. Does anyone think if it's just my paranoia or they would've actually done something like that?
Also, I realized my sub isn't hitting as hard as it did 2 seconds before I took it to the dealership, and there is this constant hissing noise (sounds like a fan inside the sub) that I've never heard before and it started right after taking it in; does anyone know what the noise could be?

About the SUB, I would not worry about that either there is warranty if it is on the way out. Also if they performed a ECU flash or upgrade or for what ever reason they could have just yanked the battery, reprogram the time and left all your stereo settings alone at the default. So check that. out first.
Where did you go for service?
I went to maple, which is why I think I'm being paranoid, I definitely trust those guys and Darren. It could also just be me forgetting the feel of my car after the loaner with really really soft steering.
On the sub part, the hissing/fan noise has now become a squealing high pitched noise lol. I'm thinking maybe its the ground or something.

Yeah... calm down... lol Sometimes people get paranoid when they goto dealerships.
But recently I went for a brake fluid flush... and the guy working on my car didn't tighten the bleeder screw on one of my calipers properly.
That caliper started leaking brake fluid. Thankfully it didn't really damage my caliper coating that much because I kept wiping it before I determined exactly what was happening.
I tightened the bleeder screw... and now that caliper is nice and dry.
So yeah... dealerships can forget things... but keep a level head when thinking about it.

Crester man wtf its one thing to forget to do something but not to do brakes properly and let you drive off is just wrong. Any mechanic thats done his hours would tell you when it comes to brakes you double check before the car leaves.
Can you imagine if you were driving on the high way and needed to make an emergency stop and couldn't because the mechanic "forgot" to tighten the bleeder? LMFAO what shoemake mechanic does that. Thats just crazy! I'd have a conniption fit at the dealer if I were you.

i'm sorry but the techs and mechs at these mitsu dealerships are nothing but noobs coming out from mech school.
Most of the ones i've encountered have no clue on what they're talking about and try to make the problem seem like it's nothing and normal.
Only until something breaks then they'll LOOK into it. More like call head office and see what they need to do.
It's at a point where it's useless to bring your car to any mitsu dealership and expect to get proper work done. YES i know, depends on the mech tech dealership etc.... in general speaking.
This is just my opinion.

Given my bad experiences with negligent service at two separate Mitsu dealers, I would have to agree that as a whole dealer service is seriously lacking. Considering the rates dealers charge, a little due diligence by the techs would do wonders in terms of both customer safety and satisfaction.
Fortunately there are plenty of independent shops in the GTA that charge far less and show a much greater attention to detail. As such, they get the lion's share of my business.

Update:
I did some listening in and around my car, and noticed that theres a high pitched noise coming around the engine bay - even when the engine is off but the key is turned for all electronics/air to be on. Seems as though the subwoofer is picking up this exact sound. I did some searching around, and it seems like it has to do with the INPUT SHAFT BEARING meaning something to do with the tranny or an air filter that wasn't installed correctly.
Knowing that 48k service is exactly tranny related, I did a search about whining noise after a tranny fluid swap and almost everything has doom and gloom, saying their tranny failed a week after they first noticed the noise. I have no idea what they did with my transmission fluid, whether they used the right viscosity, if they put enough of the damn thing in there or what; but I've also definitely noticed a much much lower performance and acceleration - its as if I have to floor it to even reach 60 km/h. The other possibility of an air filter not being installed properly also makes sense since theres still air coming in the car even if the engine isn't on, I did get my air filter replaced as well, so they might have also installed this incorrectly.
So as far as mitsu dealers and their mechanics go, it definitely doesn't look positive.
Sorry about the essay.
