Shift Knob

Hey jus curious as to how the lancer's shift knob comes off. Do you just twist it off?

I believe there is a guide on how to remove the knob on 9g, you just need to search for it.

you cant really "twist it off". you push the plastic down, use a small flat head to pry it open.
then there is a metal clip holding it.

push the silver plastic down, not up. use a flat head. this will expose the metal clip which holds the shift knob.

On 2010 GTS Manual Trans the shaft is threaded. I had to twist the knob off much like taking the nut off the threaded rod. Do not yank anything - takes a minute to take the knob off this way. Keep an eye on the inner plastic insert as it will slide out of the knob if you let it. The inner insert is held in place with splines to the actual knob intself. Also, knob has a threaded hole behind the insert as well.
