Maintenance Procedure Tips!?
Maintenance Procedure Tips!?
What does everyone do to maintenance their car?
I bought my Lancer GT last Nov and it just pass 6000km mark and I think it's recommend to maintenance every 5 month or 7500km? (bought from Markham Mistu and got 3 free oil change coupon)
I had bad experience from a terrible sales at the dealer who don't work there no more but everything else was fine so I hope the service team there is good...
Is it a good idea to take it back to the dealer or? Advices please!!
What are the maintenance procedures from the dealer and how much does it cost usually?

The GTA has a high number of problematic Mitsu dealers. If you have the time, look through the old threads in this section, and you will see which ones get negative feedback. Dealer rates are generally $100-$110/hr I believe.
There are some good ones as well, so you may wish to have your vehicle serviced there. Another solid option, which I follow myself, is to find a good independent mechanic that is familiar with these vehicles, that can source original parts. That is a far cheaper than dealer service as well, and you will be sure the work is done correctly the first time.

Dealer experiences vary from person to person, and many dealerships have a very high turnover rate in terms of staff. So it may take trial and error if you want to go thru the dealer. What I mean is, go to one that you feel gives you the best service for your dollar. If they do not understand what you are talking about or you dont feel like a valued customer, try a different one. Its still a people business in my opinion.
This is why I constantly talk about Maple Mitsubishi often, because they were the best example of how a dealership should run. Its sad that they have closed down. But the point is, it is possible to find the right service team to take care of your lancer.
In terms of what you need to do for maintaining your car... regular oil changes will get you buy for the first 50,000km so long as your car isnt driven hard. Its very important to service your brakes. If not at a dealership, then at a shop. If you have a manual tranny, then you will likely need to change at this point. For a CVT. It is possible to push beyond the 50,000 severe canadian recommended interval. After many interviews with Jatco the tranny maker, and Mitsubishi global. The Normal interval is fine. While in the event you do have a transmission problem, Mitsubishi Canada can in theory void your warranty. Its somewhat unlikely. Ultimately you should follow the Canadian recommended intervals to stay out of trouble.
Oil changes can be treated the same way if you are using a full synthetic such as mobil1. Avoid semi sythetic blends or conventional oil.
anyways I hope that helps.
