Mitsu Dealerships

Hi, new Lancer owner here and at one point when I first got the car I was really excited about modding it but after reading a bunch of forums/posts/threads on the matter i'm actually depressed >< i find mostly older posts on this forum in particular, but i'm really not able to find a solid answer which is really...

what dealerships currently will allow me to put an intake and exhaust without threatening to void my warranty? i am even willing to pay them to install the damn thing themselves and make sure there is nothing wrong with it :P just don' t want to put on my intake and exhaust then have them tell me my warranty is void the next time i bring it in for service.

I don't have any intake or exhaust mods myself, but from what I have heard, the following dealerships are at least mod-neutral and will not void your warranty for having them:

Dixie Mitsubishi
Motorcity Mitsubishi

YOU ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO AVOID ERIN MILLS!

Great, thanks for the response. I don't expect any dealerships to be mod proactive tbh, but as long as they won't try and pull some sh*t b/c i have minor mods done to the car is exactly what i want.

and x2 on Erin Mills, if there was anything I learned while searching the net for feedback on local dealerships that's to avoid it at any cost :P the rest, well it's really hard to decide b/c there is a lot of mixed reviews i'm finding and don't know how true or accurate those reviews really are.

anyway, would put my mind at ease bringing my car in for service/check up at a dealership which fellow evo M members are already going to.

And was also curious, I plan to install the intake and exhaust myself.

Is there any difference having the dealership install it for you? I mean that way they will at least know everything has been installed correctly, but do they care?

I have intake and exhaust installed not by dealer + coils and such and warranty is not voided. I mean it is in a way like example my sway bar bushing are no longer covered but obvi that is extra wear and tear from being lowered.

Newmarket Mitsubishi is cool too just as long as you use common sense ya know.

well i'm not going to install more then an exhaust and intake and maybe springs next xmas.. for a couple of years until the warranty expires anyway. not like there is a reliable turbo for cvt :P

but anyway, just a bit worried after reading all of these threads and reviews of horrible experiences in the GTA area.

i'll definitely be checking out new market and Dixie, Motorcity is a bit far to me but I wouldn't mind the drive if its worth it

Evo_soul will be hopefully speaking with Richmond Hill in the not too distant future to see what there stance is on mods. There is also a new dealer in Hamilton that the club will be contacting. Fingers-crossed both meetings are positive.

There would be nothing I would love more is to find another mod friendly service oriented dealerships that puts their customers first. Maple Mitsubishi set the benchmark very high. I have been doing this for sometime. The terms of an agreement are pretty simple. If the dealership agrees, I think we can see things improving in the GTA.

When I talk to Richmond Hill or Hamilton, I will report back to everyone what the results were.

On someone related news, I will be meeting with Mitsubishi Head office in Canada on a few matters in regards to service in the GTA as well as defined policy towards its dealers and end customers. Again I will keep you in the loop on that as well.

Wow, I've only been around for a few days but it's great to see the leadership on this website and how much you personally do for the community and it's members.

I was so excited reading that sticky in this forum about maple mitsu (I live 2 minutes from maples, and about 5 from where the dealership used to be) and was so soured once I realized they were posts from years ago.

I thought my dreams of keeping the warranty without any hassle and lightly modding my car were crushed but you have given me another hope

got my fingers crossed for some good news from Richmond Hill Mitsu.

Not everyone has bad relationships with dealer you just hear more negative than positive. I consider my car pretty modified. Hell they have to jack up my car to get it on the hoist lol. They still take care of me though
