draven, I didn't consider selling the block off by itself. The sheet of flat carbon fiber I bought cost me $800. The price has gone up considerably already since I bought it. I am not interested in selling them seperate.

ries, your wastegate and turbo will work but you need a new turbine housing to go on this header.

psphinx, thanks for posting the picture!!

vwjeff, yes, the current race FMIC works no problem. In the first pictures I put up in this thread you can see the two piece i/c pipe we made, it's short.

UPDATE!!!

I didn't really like the velcro holding the carbon fiber cover to the front grille so I ordered up some nice SS bolts and wing nuts to do the job. It fits great now and there's less messing around.

Here's a picture of how the cover is installed on my car right now:

just out of curiosity, have you considered using a thin sheet of Plexiglas that is clear so you can see the turbo still? I dont know how much it would weigh, but would not "look" much different than stock.

just throwing it out there.

Also, what about a cover for the IX's. thanks!

How the heck did I miss this thread, looks like I may sway back to the BR end of things. Very nice looking kit Dave, I think you have finally outdone yourself.

I love how you go from bashing David and BR in every other thread and then they come out with the best turbo kit out on the market and now you want to run their parts......

You did absolutely nothing to me.. That's not the point.. I just don't like people that bash a great company like BR and then go and jump on the band wagon when a part comes out that is obviously superior quality..

back on topic.. these kits ROCK!!!!!!

Just a thought on the block off plate:

You could use that same template, but cut out the center of the block off plate which would then expose the turbo leaving just a frame plate. Make two of these, with a small spacer in between the two "frame plates" and then you will be able to slide a slightly smaller block off plate in between the two "frame plates" sealing off the turbo for poor weather......

But the people running this kit probably would never have to worry about driving the car in the rain...

It would just save some time from having to attach and detach the block off plate.

Either way, this is an amazing kit...I was just looking at the new way it attaches and this idea came to mind...

I might be wrong but even if you did drive without the block off plate in the rain, wouldnt it have to be one hell of a rain to actually cause damage? but of course if you have the block of plate you should use it

petey, I didn't consider using any type of clear material, that would be kind of cool though so you could still see the turbo. It's going to be carbon fiber only for me as I have the material already. When someone with an EVO9 orders a kit I will make a cover for the EVO9. As of now, only EVO8 orders.

EVOXSI, the entire kit will depend on which turbo you get but the cheapest the entire complete kit with radiator, fan, turbo kit, turbo, downpipe, wastegate etc., etc. would be is $5384.

Johnboy, yes it would probably have to be one hell of a rain to worry about getting too much water into the air filter. It isn't something I can risk though from a manufacturing stand point. I have to atleast give everyone the option to cover the inlet so I don't get sued when someone hydrolocks an engine.
