Sprintbooster Evaluation
Greetings EVO X community
We at Sprintbooster USA have recently started our Mitsubishi campaign for Mitsubishi Lancers, Ralliarts, and Evolution X vehicles. We are also looking for testers/evaluators for our product and review and post here on evolutionm.net. We are not looking for just anyone. We want the most critical yet most respected individual to put our product thru its paces and report back right here what they think.
We get dozens of emails a day with people asking how it works, and more technical data then they know what to do with. But when it come down to it, Sprintbooster is something that, once you try it you understand and appreciate.
So to get right down to it, we are looking for an EVO X owner, someone who has been on this forum for some time, Well respected by evo x peers will accept as a suitable candidate and can offer an unbiased opinion on the product. If there is a hint of scepticism in there then even better.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
1) EVO X MR - with light to moderate upgrades (bolt ons), NOT TUNED, NOT Piggybacked
2) EVO X GSR - with light to moderate upgrades (bolt ons), NOT TUNED, NOT Piggybacked
3) Ralliart SST - with light to moderate upgrades (bolt ons), NOT TUNED, NOT Piggybacked
The reason why we wish to avoid tuned or piggyback results is because we don’t want it to interfere with our sprintbooster unit, we want to test it and have it make sense to the average Joe X owner. If you have a suggestion in mind or want to nominate someone please speak up.
TERMS
Real easy, we send out 1 free for your evaluation, all we ask is you do a full right up and put it thru its paces. It either exceeds your expectations, or it doesn’t. If it doesn’t we arrange the pick up/return. The only thing this costs you is some of your time.

No disrespect intended, but you want somemone to perform R&D for you and risk their personal vehicle right?
At no point have you listed what the payout would be for such services. In most cases companies either offer a monitary reward or a free unit.
I'm sure you planed on addressing this through PM, but it would be nice to publically state your offering as you are expecting an individual to risk his own vehicle.
At any rate, I applaud that you are developing a user friendly performance adder for the masses. The only thing I see as a hurdle is that a similiar unit is already available (Cobb Access port).

I'd be interested in giving it a shot, but I'm disqualified.

An interesting point, though... is the average Joe X user untuned? If you have a look around, I'd image most of us have tunes. I can see the point for disqualifying that, though, since you can also muck about in the throttle tables in ECUFlash even though most people don't. Who knows what kind of havoc that could cause.

I have recently joined the Team with Sprintbooster in June and the evaluation idea was mine. So allow me to chime in and better answer these in relation to the Mitsubishi.
posted above in red
I have yet to hear a story on how a Sprintbooster in any application has blown a motor. This is not an R&D test for some beta prototype, Sprintbooster has two versions, the original and the second version which has selectable settings. but its no beta. Everyone who has tried it likes or loves it. I havent met someone who didnt enjoy the benefits.

SPRINTBOOSTER is not in R&D, this is a final product, we only wish to get it in the hands of a few owners at the heart of the community and get their feedback. Nothing more. Sprintbooster has been around for many years and is widely accepted in European car circles. Our focus now is to bring this to the Japanese import masses in a big way.

Sir? the unit is free! We only ask that for what ever reason, you dont like it, document it and return it. thats its.

We have installed this on hundreds of Mitsubishi's thousands if you factor in Europe with very little mention of a problem.

Our unit is hardware based in a plug and play fashion, its easy to install and doesnt modify your easy as software does. We are attempting to fill that market demand for a easy plug and play hardware solution.

So if you put in the time and effort to test it and do a write up, if your conclusion is you don't like it you get nothing, not even the chance to resell it (if you don't like it you probably don't want to keep it).
Seems a little off...
Here are a couple of write ups I have done there are more on the EvoX specific site but we can't post links to them here.

Like I said I have access to a few unmolested Evo X GSR's and MR's to test on so this can be done.

Ok, so its just a throttle manipulation device...
Something like the Blitz electronic throttle controller then?
Thanks for the reply Evo_Soul... and please dont be defensive over questions. The original post didnt state that it manipulated throttle control or responsiveness and so it looked like it was some sort of a piggyback device which whenever a device alters the stock system to increase or change performance, you run the risk of a system malfunctioning or failing. Luckily the throttle control is pretty safe. Im sure you have plenty of people who enjoy the device as well as many who will offer to use it for free! Good luck with your testing!

Not to be picky, but I happened to see this when I re-read it. Isn't this basically paying for a good review? If your review is good, you can keep it. If it's not, we'll arrange to pick it back up.

1) First I thought, have people buy it and offer a 100% refund if they dont like it. But I wanted to make it even easier.
2) now here Sprintbooster USA goes looking for the most reputable person to test this unit at no cost to them. And there is something wrong with it?
Listen, if they like it, write about it. They keep it.
They Dont like it FOR WHAT EVER REASON, write about it in depth, and return it. We even pay to pick it up. Why. cause Sprintbooster is pretty sought after, and one person happens to not like it, there are a handful willing to pay good money for it.
You mentioned , that the person who doesnt like it, should keep it so they can sell it? Why would they want to keep something they dont like? Its not a bribed review. You like it fine, you dont, you dont. But Sprintbooster USA isnt saying keep it to yourself if you dont like it. They want people to be a critical as they want and public as they want. They just want a fair shake.
Everyone who tries a sprintbooster and pays they money for it, Keeps it. I run the Toronto Lancer Club over here in Canada, and to date I dont recall someone installing it and not like it. Specifically for the Automatic Tranny Mitsubishi's On the CVT it is GOLD!!!! Ralliart, MR its amazing. It drives like a different car. It sounds funny to hear, but when you get into it. Its hard to go back.
Now with this new version of sprintbooster its selectable so now they can Turn it off. Stage 1 and Stage 2. So you can now see the difference.
Its that simply.
