If you need to make slight adjustments after using the lowering brackets, I would just run a thick washer found at any hardware store between the floor and bracket (and longer bolts if needed). I did this and got the perfect angle.

I just installed the oem rear brackets with the front lowering brackets. Only drove it for 1 day like that and so far I like this combo. Its basically the stock rear height with the advantage of having the front lowered. Having a lower front allows more steering wheel leg room and helps with leg posture for pushing the clutch in. Previously the bucket style "dip" of the seat brought your butt real low and your legs inclined. So trying to push the clutch brought a challenge of your under part of the leg fighting against the front end of the seat cushion.

So that any one knows, you have have to modify the front bracket slightly to get it to fit with using the oem rear bracket. I had to drill another hole on the front lowering bracket for the setup to work. I dont think the safety of the seat is compromised that much but I also have the assurance of the oem bracket holding the rear part of the slider.

No, X's don't work with the basic lowering concept. Sucks.

So it looks like the only thing keeping the seat from moving forward to all its positions is the bolt near the door? I too it off and the seat has full travel. So I will be replacing the stock nut with a open ended nut so my girl can drive the car again.....

The X just doesn't have the right slider system and design to make lowering feasible - I tried. Just put in some real race seats!

Have been looking into this cause i feel like im sitting so high and then i get in my brothers 2g eclipse and it feels like youre part of thecar. But i have a base 03 es. do you guys think the brackets would fit the base lancer too even though it has different stock seats?

It will fit the frame, but not the stock lancer seats. You'd need EVO seats.
