Just ordered these. I really want to get that front tip of the seat lowered only because I am perfectly fine with the actual height of the seat. I'm 5'8 for the record and I may try just installing the front 2 brackets while leaving the oem rear. I know that one side of the slider bracket is a single piece so I will cut it into two to use the rear part of the oem bracket.

it wont work with just the front's, unless you try and bend them in a vice. the hole will not line up for the bolt

From just by eye balling I think it may work but the seat area is going to be tilted down more, which I want.

I'll let you guys know how it goes once I get it.

I think you're going to have to bend the bar for the sliders even more than recommended with the front tilted down like that....and it's going to provide a pretty weird seat angle. Just my opinion based on my experience with the seat position changes after installing the brackets.

Do the lowering brackets just lower the seat or do they actually angle the front section to down more?

The reason I'm concerned about lowering the front portion more is because my left knee area has been hurting a little since I got the Evo and I'm quite certain its because of the seat. The seats are designed in a way where your butt sits lower than your knee area. And when you try to push the clutch in, my leg hits the front section of the seat which forces my leg to do it at an odd angle. I'm assuming it pinches a nerve or something... It doesnt hurt when pushing the clutch or walking or running but rather when I squat all the way down and apply pressure I feel pain that I cant pin point where exactly but around the side muscle part of my knee. I tried a self experiment where I would force myself to be self conscious about how I press the clutch and force my foot to fight the seat bolster and keep a correct posture and the pain went away.

If I cant correct the seat in a way to help me with y situation then I'm going to look to purchase some black/dark color lancer front seats and sell the Recaros.

^^^^The binary brackets(if all four are installed) lower the rear more than the front, so it sounds like you definitely do not want to utilize the rear brackets. If just using the fronts, then I think it's realistic to think you'll achieve the goal in your diagram. Like I said though, be prepared to modify the slide lever/handle mechanism so that it will work correctly in that position/angle.

Personally, my back couldn't be happier with these brackets. For whatever reason, it's the perfect seating position for me with the complete kit installed.

Before you cut the stock bracket to allow for front only you should test out using all the lowering brackets. With everything lower you will find that the clutch depression is lined up way better than stock. Try it before you cut the stock bracket.

I do have an extra pair of brackets, but I'll follow your suggestion.

It actually just hit me now. Is it a must for us to bend the seat lever?

Believe or not I actually prefer the "seeing the hood" pov.

Depends. The issue is that the seat lever won't lower/lock into place for the front few positions on the slider unless you bend it up. I'm 6'0", with long legs, so I did not need to bend the lever, but it does "wiggle" a little bit when I slide the seat forward to those front positions.

So do I, but after awhile all of the other benefits of the lower brackets outweigh that. At least it did for me.

Just installed these. They do lower the seat quite a bit. So far I like how the clutch pedal angle feels. The entire seat is actually a lot lower now and height wise so far it feels ok. I am curious how it would feel if I installed the OEM rear brackets with the lowering fronts. I may drive around for a week and then try that.

From having it on for only a day, I think it could be a must do mod list

Would these work for Sparco seats. The seating position is slightly higher with the Sparco hardware.

^^^ No the Sparco bases are different. You need to do alot of reworking to make that combo work. People have done it including myself, but it involves cutting and welding for sure.
