so, i've recently started running pump again, but the FIC1650's are not so great under 1.5ms PW...

how are you finding low PW applications? have you tried pump yet?

I also find (really only anecdotal evidence), that I get more "black bar syndrome" with the 1650's that the 2150's.. So i reckon the atomisation isn't great low down...

i was going to drop my 2150's back in this weekend and see whats up
I never noticed any issues with my car on pump gas..

mrfred - just to clarify, should the latencies/ipw-adder be the same between the fic1650's and asnu1500? since it's the same base injector?

also, do you happen to have a pic/video of the spray pattern on the asnu1500's?

for reference, here are the fic1650's:

i cant help but think a diffuser plate would be beneficial here

LGTD - i have a a few logs on my car showing some odd behaviour (which i can only put down to flow inconsistancies at low IPW), for instance, very light throttle down hills, where IPW is say 1.3ms, the AFR will swing between 13 and 16 (just from the STFT variances):

I've never been concerned for nuance issues like that, so I've never logged it. Car drives great for me. Very stable AFR's at idle and cruise.

Hey Dave, sorry for taking >6 months to respond. This is my first time cruising the subforums since May 2016. :-)

They are the same basic injector. Only difference is the diffuser plate. I have posted the IPW adder for the FIC1650s and the ASNU1500s. They are fairly close to each other but not quite identical. Consider the values I posted to be baseline values that need to be fine tuned. The very low PW range takes a fair bit of work to dial in. It took me quite a few light throttle, slight downhill runs to work out the linearization values there. As for the AFR swing, one thing I have observed is at certain rpm ranges or light throttle positions, the STFT change is more coarse. My recollection is that in this light throttle, slight down hill condition where PWs are very low, the ECU seems to only be able to take ~5% jumps in STFT.

Sorry, no photos of the spray pattern, but I'm sure its better atomized than the 1650s.

This may be my new injector. Thanks Mychailo.

May have run 50 psi base pressure though, unless this means the 1650 is now available?

That injector is the basis for the 1500. It can only flow 1650 cc/min without a diffuser plate, and it is the "FIC1650" injector.

50 psi base is fine. You'll get even better atomization, although probably not by much, and ASNU now has all the injector data posted for a wide range of base pressure.

Asnu states the 1650 also has a diffuser plate.

I think that's a wording error on someone's part combined with ASNU's confusing part numbering. That announcement on the ASNU USA website is actually three years old. The same announcement can be found on other websites dating back to August 2014. The highest flowing diffuser plate version is the 1500.
