Stage 1+ designations

Stage 1 - XEDE, cam gears, dump- or turbo-back exhaust, high flow cat

Options ("plusses"):

+: upgraded camshafts
c: cat delete
h: 10.5cm^2 hotside
i upgraded intercooler
m: upgraded exhaust manifold
o: race O2 housing (standalone or integral to turbo-back exhaust)
p: ported head
t: titanium OEM turbo

Note that any letter designation would imply the + i.e. camshafts.

These seem to be the most common "add-ons" to stage 1+. I did not account for intercooler piping, upgraded intake manifold, throttle body, etc. etc. If people start doing these we can add more geek letters.

So what people are calling stage 1++ might be renamed e.g. stage 1i (if it's an intercooler they mean) or stage 1h (if it's the 10.5 hotside they've added), or stage 1hi for both.

I was wondering, starting from bone stock, what mods would be necessary to support the 6.5 TME 10.5t??? Or if anyone here in their infinite wisdom would be able to recommend an upgrade path to streetable setup, wider powerband, supurb response and more top end without getting crazy on the ammount of upgrades. I don't expect to be some 400-500whp dyno queen... 300 - 350 whp is my goal without breaking the bank and looking relatively stock... Thanks!

I think at a minimum you'd need some form of boost control as well as a reflash to raise boost cut and appropriately re-map for the added flow.

Not too much actually.

From what I read, it's supposed to be faster spooling than the stock turbo and will support around 400 whp. Is that true? Also, in terms of boost control, would a reflash and a MBC suffice? Or would an stage zero / zero plus be more beneficial in terms of safety and adjustability?

See my thread here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=111466 and note how happy I am with this turbo and other parts. I highly recommend this upgrade path. The one piece that I should have changed at the time was the O2 housing though, it's a relatively inexpensive part and once the turbo is out it's a cinch to replace. C'est la vie.
