Launch Control --- When will it be available?

This is the second time I am bringing this up because its a mod that all of us want and will make launching the car pretty much idiot proof. I see other vendors pulling this off with just a flash so it certainly shouldn't take Vishnu more than a day to whip up a patch for us and make this available.

Here is a link to another vendors solution.....PLEASE GET ON THIS!!

Cool

isnt there someone out there now that has a add on stutterbox for the evo??? i could have sworn that there is one already made for our cars-or maybe its just for the newer 05s?? i already know the 05s come with the stutterbox factory, but what about us that have the 03-04s??

problem with the 05 is that its only set at 5k....and doesnt work quite the same way.

i would rather have nothing at all than that crap you guys have onthe 05.

I also am not fond of a ECU flashed launch control, because if it's part of the flash we can't change it ourselves while at the track. If it is integrated into the Xede we can set the RPM ourselves and change the value until we find an RPM we like....

To be picky, to me, launch control would be something akin to a stutterbox (2 step rev limiter) tied in with an ignition retard to pull back power when you get wheelspin.

You just want the stutterbox.

While you are at it, ask for a seperate rev limit when the car is moving and the clutch is pushed in for WOT shifts that don't spool down the turbo and are very smooth.

That would be a great feature also. My Talon had that along with my stutter box mod. When I would shift at WOT, my RPM's would never drop below 6,000 RPM.

Can you say DSMLink.....that's where I am coming from as well.....I cannot stand not having boost at the line and having to lift while shifting.

I SURE WISH VISHNU WOULD POST IN HERE SOON!!!!!!!!!

Guys, its always been on the list. However, it is an extremely hard feature to do correctly. With that said, we have to prioritize between features like launch control, and SMART. SMART is something that helps everyone, not just the drag racers....and its never been done before.

So, its still on the list, but we are somewhat focused on features that will better your day to day driving, track driving, and drag racing, not just one of the three.

What about RaceLogic traction control...it can be set up for any number of slip angles and thresholds, has an adjustable rev limiter for launch, has a rev hold for no lift shift and all sorts of other stuff... That said, I have no idea how it does with 4wd vehicles or if it would be a very good mesh with the ACD in '05 cars.

Their website now blows chunks, however, no real good info on all its capabilities, but you may be able to get info from Matrix Integrated, the US distributor.

Some links: http://www.matrixintegrated.cc/about_1.php

I have no vested interest in this, other than I have ridden in some rediculously powerful cars with it (P996GT2, 900whp to name one) and they are perfectly manageable in VERY hard acceleration with little or no wheelspin..with it off they are just tire-fryers or very hard to launch quickly.

That's funny. We had that same feature in v2 Xmap but never really liked it. I didn't like the way it transitioned from the secondary (low) rev limiter to the primary one. It almost seems like it would lose too much of the boost it generated during clutch out. And at 6000rpm, it would only generate about 10psi. What we're trying to develop is anti lag system which retards timing 60 degrees during the launch (with the throttle cracked open), making big BANG BANG sounds and generating up to 25psi at the manifold. That, to me, is a big more useful. Especially for all thost times between shifts when running a BIG turbo.

Gotta be careful with the antilag, though. It likes to blow **** up, turbines included.

I've used it a few times on my car just to scare the ricers. It really builds boost very fast, shoots fire out the tailpipe, and makes fun noises. Not really necessary for the small turbos, though. I get enough wheel spin without it.
