In my Xede right now I have pre-SMART v3 firmware, and a Baseline Stage 0+ 93oct map.

Am I correct in thinking that to get launch control all I have to do is the following:
1 - Hook up a clutch switch (which I haven't found instructions for yet, but I haven't looked)
2 - Download the SMART pump gas template
3 - Copy my fuel, timing, and boost table values into the SMART map.
4 - Upload and burn map to Xede and Voila, I have LC and NLS?

Is there an extra step of updating to the SMART firmware? How will that work if I don't have the SMART hardware?

EDIT: Found my answers here : https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...79&postcount=1

I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed launch control

So I was following the launch control installation instructions and got up to the point of attaching the clutch wire to PIN 1 of the black connector in the Xede. Guess what!! There's already a wire in there!! It's a blue one with a white stripe on it.. According to the wiring diagram in XMAP this is for boost in from the ECU.

Where should I put this wire and how do I add launch control?

Thanks

Do you have your XEDE controlling boost? Have you rewired it for that?

http://www.vishnutuning.com/evo_install_xede.htm

But....thinking back I dont believe there was a blue wire in mine!

Yes, I have done that.

The blue wire that is in my PIN 1 seems to lead to the board on the wiring harness.

Right now I have reverted back to pre-SMART V3. The car wouldn't stay running with SMART V3.

I think you have the map backwards... I thought this at first.. Notice the pink and brown wire and take the diagram from there.

I don't think I have the map backwards. I look in the socket that the black plug goes in and the pin labelled 1 lines up with the blue/white (it's actually a really light pink stripe) wire.

My wire layout looks exactly like this diagram. (I edited the one off XMAP to look exactly like mine).

Well here is a shot of where the wire should be....we can compare harnesses if you like.

OK that's what I thought.. Here's a pic of mine, you can see the offending wire in that position.

If I don't have this issue figured out by then next time I'm up at Turbo Tom's I'll definately have to swing by and do a comparison. As long as Carole doesn't b1tch about my 'train wreck' brake pads.

I think this is going to have to wait for the Vishnu crew.

If it were me I would remove the offending wire.

If you trace the offending wire, where does it lead to?

I'm out of guesses.....all I can think of is the guy who had that before you may have been controlling alchohol or nitrous with that plug.

OK, so I just spoke to Dustin. I apparently just have an older wiring harness so I can simply yank (or cut) the offending wire and use that for my clutch line.

More testing tonight.

Thanks for everyone's help so far.
