xede and emissions testing
We are "fortunate" enough here in idaho to have emissions testing in the county that I live in. the test for the evo is to plug the machine into the obdII port and check for trouble codes and that some log has been collecting data. had quite a discussion with the supervisor on the phone today and told him that I am trying to add a piggyback computer and will they test with the sniffer. no way..
I have to have access to the obdII port and all the factory sensors. will xede/smart allow him to plug into the obdII port and see the factory computer?
if not, can I unhook it for the 5 minutes of the test, then reinstall? I have read in the forum on a obdII card reader mounted in the obd port and that the system throws p0300 codes. any thoughts?
he also stated that they will know if the ecu has been tampered with, but last year when I had it tested, I had my flash installed, running a little rich and they had not a clue, but if they are unable to use the obd port, I see flags going up....
thoughts?

OBD-II cars take "freeze frames" of sensor data when certain error codes appear. Those might be the logs that people were talking about.
