xede basics questions

finally purchased an xede(yea me..) now comes the install in a few months. want to get smart first...
my questions are designed to get all the info in one spot prior to install...
I have walbro, buschur filter, mbc, helix i/c piping, helix dp/hf cat/exhaust. my questions are what to remove prior to xede...such as the mbc...(also going to add 10.5,hks cams and cam gears at same time as smart/xede install)...
I am flashed and looking at selling it and flashing back to stock, then getting the xede to remove the rev limiter/boost..
smart way to go? not sure if I want to leave the dynoflash on and work around it.

next question are what you all would recommend hooking up and where to find directions.. I see an output for a light to show the status, but don't know how.. cluch/nls feature but no directions..

I purchased this unit based on all the user help on this forum and am looking forward to tuning it into the winter and spring..

thanks for any help......

Well like you mentioned you can use the dynoflash and leave the mbc. You seem to be interested in tuning yourself so you can either rely on the vishnu xede basemaps and get an xfalsh or just zero everything out (Id do a little negative offset on fuel and timing) and work off that just like the SAFC guys at the track except you will have control of timing as well.

I personally prefer the xede RPM dependant boost control over an MBC or EBC for more area under the curve on pump, but you have tons of tools to work with now and there are plenty of ways to get to an end goal for your car. I think you got a powerful tool thats easy to use and proven so congrats! Any questions and Vishnu or the other users are good at helping out

As far as the hookup lets do the plain jane get it up and running first using the slightly negative offset. Depending on the version we can then walk you through updating and hooking up th LC

it has v2 currently and not sure if it has any maps installed. would assume so as I purchased it used from a guy selling his car. (JTB in colorado) sounds like the way to go will be to sell the dynoflash and just get the basic xedeflash for the 100 bones and go from there. just trying to get all the wiring done and out of the way at once so I don't have to root around under the dash more than once. I am not planning on using a lot of the features at once, just want to get the wiring out of the way.
btw, am buying an innovate wideband/gauge to go with the smart as well..

you guys mention the Xede boost controll, and in the instructions it says to take out the pill, but isnt there 2 pills total? one on the solenoid end, and one close to the T that either goes to the wastegate actu, or housing?

yes, but you only remove the upper pill(the one near the solenoid) and you leave the pill near the T alone.

Hopefully the thread started kept his stock hoses so he can lose the MBC and use the xede. If not, he needs to leave the MBC on there to control the boost.

im running a MBC right now.... but am thinking about swapping out to the XEDE boost...so the small line with the pill goes to which? the actuator or the elbow?? I know the other line goes to the intake pipe correct??

kept all my factory lines and have the pill in a bag somewhere in the garage. I just purchased the factory service manual so hopefully it has somewhere how to run the boost lines again as I didn't think that I would need them...

read somewhere about hooking up a light to mimic the xede light on the front of the box..
anyone done this?

the line coming off the solenoid goes to a 'T' that splits to the compressor nipple and the wastegate actuator. the other hose coming off the solenoid goes to the intake pipe.
