Vishnu, need xede update

I just bought an evo with an xede, and I think it is the older version because it only has one map but I would like to update to the V3. What do I need to do? Can I use a map with launch control on my current xede, or do I need to update first?

I believe all new xedes are V3 from vishnu. If you only ordered 1 map thats all theyll put in it. If I am wrong about shipping V3's you will need to update to use launch control.

I don't think mine is a V3. It was on this evo when I bought it, but I think it's a V1 or V2 and I want to know how to find out and what I need to do to update. I'm fairly sure because I don't think it has the extra wires to do the map switching.

You will need to plug a laptop up to your xede in order to check the current version of firmware loaded on it. With that being said, use either version of Xmap (located here) and try to connect to it. If all is well and you get no errors, click on the Diagnosis drop-down menu then on the Xede Information option. A screen should pop up containing your firmware version, maps loaded, etc. Hope this points you in the right direction.

So is there a hardware difference between any versions of the xede, or is it all software?

Hardware is all the same, the firmware that gets update. Once you find out which Xmap works with your Xede, you can update it accordingly. If its V2 or V1, you will use Xupdate to update your firmware.

And then I must update my maps by inserting the parameters into the v3 maps? Is the launch control and NLTS already added into the v3 firmware? Thanks for the help.

Launch control is in v3 from what I know, but I thought there had to be some hardware modification that needed to be done for launch control. Don't quote me on it, but I thought I read that in one of the forums. I have yet to update mine to version 3, I am still waiting for my S.M.A.R.T. kit to come in the mail. Once I get it I will do everything at once.

When I'm trying to update my maps from v3 to the smart v3 with launch control, the boost table has more settings, have I done something incorrectly?
